I have noticed two games in the past couple of days that are supposedly indie but splash a corporate logo at you. Bastion hits you with the WB Games logo and the upcoming Rock of Ages hits you with the Atlas logo. I am sure there are more examples that I am unaware of too.

Atlas is great but they aren't indie and neither is Warner Bros. Are these really indie games or are they just cashing in on the indie love going on right now?

Second question, do you post less because of captcha?

First question: Some people see it as a game doing something totally different, some see it as a game made by a small development team with a limited budget. I personally see an Indie game as more of the guy who does it in his room as a hobby, hoping for a breakout. I think Publishers are starting to use the term to promote games that play differently to others on the market as a sort of hook for people wanting to look for something fresh, even if it does have a fairly large budget behind it.

Second Question: Sometimes, some of the capatcha's you get are impossible to read or guess on a first try.

I think you're right in that publishers are using "indie" to help sell their games. It's a dirty trick IMO.

Captcha is like DRM, it assumes we're all spammers and we must prove we are not several times a day. It's fuckin' ridiculous that people put up with this but hopefully people are silently protesting by posting less and less.
