Well what makes you furious?

What makes me furious is when I'm playing a video game and I can't get past that damm level and I try for a couple of hours on that one boss...I very often just give up on the video game.
And for instance when I'm writing a story and I get a writers block when I've written about 50 page story and then I don't know how to end it well I get angry.
Plus when my friends become assholes to other people when they have no reason to be assholes to them then yeah I will defend the stranger or let him/her explain them selves.

Semi-low content 'list ...' threads.

They really get my blood boiling. Especially when they sink more productive and well thought out discussion threads.

I try not to get angry these days, it's such hard work. I find it so much easier just to let things slide.

Well, most things. One thing that does make me rage are those cocksuckers who drive 45 / 50 mph EVERYFUCKINGWHERE.

So you're on a main road with a speed limit of 60 mph. ************ in front is doing 45, slowing everyone down, making a line of cars behind him trundling along ithout a care in the world. I live in a rural area with mots of windy roads and places to overtake are not overly common. You should be driving the limit wherever possible.

Then you get to a village with a 30 mph limit. These people just cruise through at 45/ 50 mph. Well shit I guess the law dosnt apply to you, you fuck. Like the advert says - it's a 30 limit for a reason.

And this. I get pretty annoyed when people claim that any religions or evolution are absolutely true or absolutely untrue.

Most conversatives. I mean, god damn.
Also, stupid hormonal middle-schoolers who think that Meet the Spartans is a funny movie. Ugh.

About forty percent of the users here piss me off something chronic. "We're so smart but we can't read a scientific report, recognise biased reporting or figure out the meaning of 'innocent until proven guilty.' We also can't get girlfriends, complain about lack of friends and seem to be batshit crazy, truly gaming has enriched our lives.'
I don't think people here, or in most places on the internet, are going to go to the trouble of pulling up an APA or MLA list of citations on their arguments over the net, when accounting for "do I REALLY care what this person thinks"?

Would you hop through any hoops to bother actually trying to change someone's opinion on a (principally) internet gaming forum, especially if the people who took you to task did so while addressing you from a preassigned position of contempt?

Reflect, man.

Maybe you're expecting too much of the community you're unlikely to change in any significant way? If so, greener pastures?

Relationship threads and "am I the only one" threads.

They're so pissingly annoying and all of them boil to down to a simple answer that everyone knows.

EDIT:

It's the news section shit that makes me want to kill really, anyone who comes up with some incredibly sadistic punishment for a person they've never met and who may be innocent or those mind-fuckingly stupid articles we get on here about 'science discovers something'. Seriously, leave the celebration of whether a study is nice or not unil you know who did it and why. If gaming is reported to make my dick six inches longer and make my sweat smell of Old Spice I bloody well want to know why someone would want to tell me that.

Or the fact that we seemingly can't have a discussion without weirdos hijacking it and turning it into either an atheist soapbox or a way to tell everyone how edgy they are. Does no one ever look a themselves and wonder if maybe the society that labelled them 'outcast' actually has a point?

Basically my point is 'either stop saying that the user-base here is unusually intelligent and 'the last Bastion' or stop being so fucking stupid!
I can get where you're coming from, for what it's worth. I just don't think it's worth getting angry about. This is a very public internet forum - considering that, I'm pretty happy with the level of intelligence compared to what I've been exposed to elsewhere.

I edited this into my last post, but you already replied:

----

Regarding one of our previous discussions, I made a statement regarding the merits of videogames and certain aspects of motor control, visual aquity, etc that they benefit.

Now, I'll fully admit I threw that out there, without being prepared to back it up scientifically, because... I don't really care...

But I'll entertain a flicker of curiosity:

If you want to know where I came to that conclusion, it was mostly from reading the book "Synaptic Self"[small]linked below[/small], which is a neurologist's search for the soul that answers a lot of unrelated questions about how new neural pathways are established and reinforced in human biology. Having mentioned the subject to my family doctor, he agreed, and stated that even if his son wasn't into video games, he would find ones he could tolerate and get him to play them for awhile.

Maybe that's horseshit, but it's a reasonable sell to someone like me who'd like to believe it. If you want to shoot me all to bitty bits, look up the source material, refute it and I'll listen, if not jump out of my seat to defend my position to the death.

No offence intended but I wasn't actually thinking of you, until you brought it up I hadn't remembered the conversation or even who you were. So no I'm not riding you, I've been using this website for two years and the site has some half a million users or something ridiculous, you're not the only person I've had that discussion with and frankly it wasn't the most in-depth one anyway. If you've held a grudge over that conversation then I'd be a little surprised, it was one post. .
No grudge, no hard feelings, mate.

Group projects. People who prattle on about teamwork being more important than competence. Corporate America. Politicians (from both parties---I'm American. YMMV in other countries). Leland Yee, Jack Thompson, and the talking heads on Fox News who give them airtime.
