Hello Escapists, I'm a bit sad today and I'll tell you why (this isn't me complaining, just pondering)

Lately I've been thinking about all the friends I have made at a summer camp a few years ago. Just this evening I pulled out the list of emails I have of theirs from those years ago and I'm wondering, where are they now? Do they still remember me? I added them to my MSN so heres hoping I can get back in touch with them.

What makes you sad Escapists? It can be anything from a flower to a cloud in the sky, whats makes you feel down?

PS: I checked and I'm almost 50% confident this hasn't been done before (I searched it and nothing came up)

That moment when I'm making a fuss of my cat and I remember she's old, that one day she'll be gone.
Or anytime I remember death's a certainty, really.

My mind never stays down for long though. Usually gets bored with being sad and decides I'm hungry instead.

I'm sure there's a trope for it but I forget the name...
Why does everyone call it a "trope" nowadays? Does no one call them cliches anymore?

Also, what makes me sad is sometimes I think about the friends I made long ago in the time before MSN (well before every kid had MSN) and what they are doing now, okay so I guess it's just about the same as my summer camp one but still.

When I plumb the recesses of my mind and reflect on all the mistakes I've made and all the opportunities I've missed.
Damn, that was depressing to even type.
So I guess I'll add this thread as one of the things that depress me.

(Not usually a sad person, mind you.)

I know this feeling well, Going over old emails from years ago and looking at old pictures, wondering the same thing normally makes me pretty sad. It's a shame you can't get back those times (well in my own case).
Here's hoping that you manage to get back in touch with your friends from camp though. :3

Though to add something a bit different, usually over-thinking issues I'm having at the time causes me to get very sad.

When I contemplate the fact that I will die one day. Knowing that i'll miss so many amazing things by not being alive for them.

Generally in offline conversation I still refer to them as clichés.

However I'm not sure if a general feeling like that can even be classed as a cliché...

And of course TV Tropes Will Ruin Your Life [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TVTropesWillRuinYourLife]

Almost literally the words I was about to type, fellow Troper.

Aside from that:

When I think too deeply on life (and its purpose or lack of one) as a whole.
When I think on my own death with nothing to distract me.
When I remember the death of /-|-\

Think that's about it, to be honest.

Oh god, (replying to the first thing yous aid) I don't know what I'd do without my cat, it will be so weird without her here. I'll probably be one of those people who still keeps food out for their dead animals.

......There always IS the Pet Semetary!!

Pretty much this. I feel like a part of me is now missing and I can't relive that moment again.

Mostly when I let my mind wander too much, it goes places I wish it didn't. Next thing I know I'm dwelling on it for hours and I can't stop thinking about it, especially if it's something I screwed up majorly on.

Dudes, I can't be sad! I just got a wonderful new girlfriend!

OT: When finishing something awesome, knowing that there will never be more of 'that'.
Like a book series, you know.
