What mech would you use in real life?

All of these are massive weapons, so, I'd just use a laser designator and the bunker-buster missiles from a nearby sub.
I see your sub and raise you a Cameron Class battleship.

Incidentally a lot of the battletech mechs have on board anti missile systems.

Madcat II [http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Mad_Cat_Mk_II] for me!

Sure it can't fly, but this thing is fully functional in combat on both land and underwater...like to see your mech do that!
battelemechs work underwater and in space, hell in the one book the clans lay a trap for prince Victor Steiner-Davion by having a bunch of madcats wait in the ocean ready to jump-jet up onto a clifftop.

That's actually a tough call. So I think I'll go with these five instead:

I know, I know. You asked for one. But, I really can't pick just one. If I really, really had to though, it'd be the Kit Fox. That thing has never failed me in any Battletech themed game I've ever played.

True 'Mech heads. I thought for sure I'd be the only one to reference Battletech/Mechwarrior. Glad to be wrong. ;)

Warhammer, just to stomp on Harmony Gold's offices.
Sweet. I'll drive the Marauder.

So I did. Nice choice by the way.

Would have to be from Battletech of course. There's a lot of awesome mechs but my personal favorite is the Stone Rhino Mark 2:

I was so ninja'd. Even with the same pic. Well played.

Probably the Anubis Unit from ZoE.
Or Nineball Seraph from AC.
Either one would be badass on an 80's action movie scale.

Wing Zero of course. Most powerful Gundam.

Not sure if it counts but a warhammer 40k dreadnought.
The main downside to being in a Dreadnought is that...well, you're terminally injured and you CAN'T GET OUT. They're walking sarcophagi.

As for me, I'll take the power armor from John Ringo's Hymn Before Battle series (that's right, ladies, read a book). Power comparable to a mech and enough armor to RIDE A NUCLEAR EXPLOSION.

I was a big fan of the Timberwolf and Maurader from MechWarrior 2. Loved those PCP cannons on the latter, and the Timberwolf just looked like a perfect mech.

Although anything with some sweet guns and a lightsaber would work. Gotta have a good lightsaber to take out stronger mechs up close.

Deadnaught from warhammer 40k. Thanatos or Daishi from mechwarrior. Only warhammer and mechwarrior have mechs that could possibly be built. Any of this Japanese anime crap would break just by turning it on.

There's actually at least one anime out there that addresses this issue and invents somewhat more believable black-box technology...

Still, I'd rather drive a Battletech Thor than an M6 Bushnell [http://fullmetalpanic.wikia.com/wiki/M6_Bushnell]. Integrated autocannons, PPCs and missile launchers mean I'm much harder to disarm. Also, I'm bigger. A lot bigger.

Nice *Thumbs Up*

As a second choice I would take Orbital Frame Jehuty, fully upgraded of course.

Imma go with the Daishi, aka the Dire Wolf.

Either that or Omega Boost (which is on my profile).

And it's accuracy is 25.21% better than your team's sniper!!!!

Being a gundam-nut ... i would definitely go for the Gouf ... because it's no zaku!!!!

The Marauders from Starship Troopers, but they're more like 'clothes' that improve every aspect of you. However from the outside they can be easily called a 'mech' so I choose them, hell it's one of the earliest examples of mechs in science fiction.
