What game mods do you need because without them you wouldn't play the game?

Obvious one for me is WoWs Questhelper/Cartographer. Couldn't deal with the game having to search for things all the time.

I played Call of Duty 2 "Rifles Only" for so long it became all I played, then played in just the rifle only tournaments instead of the regular ones.
Prefer "Shoppa" on Worms Armageddon more than the actual game because of this aswell. :D

I'm using the term mod very loosely here.

What kind of mods do you use? Any that have totally taken over the game they are on so much that you can't play without them?

Zombie mods.
I download them for any game that has them and then forget about the game and stick to the mod.
Its a horrible addiction.
I just really like killing the undead :(

Zombie Panic: Source. I loved that game before Left4Dead came alone.

Smod. It's Half Life 2 with exploding bananas, ferchrissakes!

Also, Garry's Mod. Even though that's a game in its own right.

In WoW, I play a shaman healer. In order to keep up with anyone, you need to mod the hell out of your interface. In short, I use an absolutely embarrassing amount of UI mods.

The Punisher mod for Max Payne 2 It just fits so well. All the guns are meaty and your pretty much a walking tank.

I really wanted to see Operation Flashpoint or ArmA do a good zombie mod but They didn't really work right.

The only games I have ever had to mod to enjoy are those made by Bethesda. I won't list all the mods required to enjoy Oblivion because the last time I reinstalled I had to download 140 mods, but Francesco's mod and LAME were the only major changes to the game.

My primary Fallout 3 mod is the one I made for myself.

Very simple mod but it makes the game playable for me. Movement speed is increased to 100(up from 77) I no longer have to repair weapons, but to keep it simple everything can be repaired with scrap metal and tin cans.(replaced repair lists with those items, obsoleted by infinite-use Alien Epoxy) Recon armours have the same effect as the Stealth suit. And, finally, I have added a massive bobblehead that gives 1000 of every ammo type in a few locations.(Megaton, Agatha's house and Paradise Falls) It also raises the level cap to 1000.

Secondary are the Warhammer 40k mods I use in Fallout3.(not really needed but make the game more fun and probably wouldn't play without it)

Boltgun.
Chainswords.
Tau weapons.
Gauss weapons.
Chaos Marine armour.
Space marine armours.

EDIT: forgot the body mod to improve the skin quality. Sure, the eyes still look dead(probably going to import Oblivion's eyes), but the faces are a bit better.

I remember playing WoW and working the Auction House before the Auctioneer Mod came out. Hell, my friends and I basically ran that shit, and made a large amount of gold from it. That damn mod made it so any nub can start cashing in and flooding the market.

Pretty much, though i do like the way blizzard keeps integrating some features of former mods into the UI.

I have roughly 60 different mods on mine for various things, though if i had to choose essential ones, it'd be: Bartender4 (replaces the button bars with something much more configurable) and Auctioneer (keeps a database of the prices of items in the auction house)

For Oblivion it'd be the mod that 'de-consolifies' the Inventory UI into something better suited for the PC (i forget the name)

For Fallout3, i have a similar ludicrous amount of mods like i do for wow, but the difference here being that i wouldn't really find any of them essential.
