can;t see why people like Anime?

I hate 99% of the bullshit that surrounds it...I do however love animation and the Aime styles are less "stupid" like in AKIRA, Ghost in the Shell (movie) and perfect blue/paprika

This, I have no idea what people talk about when mentioning EVs and IVs and PEEVEs, I mean WTF? one Geodude level 10 can be stronger than another? it isn't just luck?

I'll list a few, okay....
1. I spelled pikachu wrong but I was quickly called out for the
2. I don't like doctor who, like any of it. Note: I mean as in just not liking it. I tried watching some of it in the current season and didn't find it too interesting.
3. I haven't seen all star wars movie- meaning I only watched at least most of the 4th one-I don't really care to finish them since I know enough about it already.
4. I never was interested in star trek- well a little but not enough to get into any of it and only finish an episode when I was younger and bored.
5. I like dubs for anime, and am often watch them because some of those Japanese voice actresses give me that ear-wormy feel when they talk.
6. I don't like majority of animes including gurren lagann- I thought the drill symbolism was just too....um stupid.
I think that's a few. I've been a nerd in the basic sense but I never had nerdy friends, so I don't know how much these nerd crimes apply to me.

The first thing that comes to mind is that I only started watching "Firefly" recently. I'm smacking myself and wondering why I didn't sit down and watch it earlier because it really is that awesome.

Where to begin?

I believe there are only 3 good Star Wars films. 3,4 and 5. Return of the Jedi is not good! Not even remotely!

If it weren't for RTS/4X games and mods I would never game on the PC. Consoles are just so much less ball ache with about a 76% less pretentiousness level.

That being said, anyone that believes console/platform choice actually matters will be shipped to my special gulags in Wales.

COD entertains me therefore it's a good game. All other opinions, while valid, are irrelevant.

Obscure isn't auto good and mainstream isn't auto bad, the hipsters have lied to you.

Finally. "You shouldn't watch that, it's for kids" only makes me question YOUR maturity.

Slight question on this thread; The Fuck is a nerd crime?
Even having read some replies, I am still in the dark as well. Most people seem to be listing things that non-nerds would criticise nerds for.
A nerd crime is when one person does something that is not deserving of nerd status. Well, that's what I got anyway...

I'm meh about this one as it depends on the anime. If the anime works best set in Japan with lots of Japanese culture, then subbed is for me. But something like Darker than Black, which involves other countries and such[footnote]There's the Chinese, Japanese, Indians, British, French, Americans, and Russians as far as I know.[/footnote] and doesn't make a mess out of the original, I'll watch the dub.

OT- I didn't like Arkham City; Asylum was better. I also thought that the Killing Joke wasn't as good as people were telling me it was.

I liked the original Mass Effect 3 ending, I love the ME3 multiplayer, I like the original ME3 ending, I encourage multiplayer to be added into series that have long been singleplayer only, and I like the original ME3 ending.

Did I mention I like the original ME3 ending? 'Cause I do.
Edit: I also like the Star Wars prequels better than the first 3.

You've passed the Taste Event Horizon. All of my nerd-rage has simply been sucked into the singularity. At this point, we have no common ground. Where I see you light, you see darkness. Your warmth chills me to the bone. We exist in different worlds, more alien to one another than to whatever extraterrestrial life awaits on some distant sphere...

My opinion on dubs has mellowed recently...probably because most dubs nowadays are done by Funimation are good. At the moment I'm in an accepting mood, of course. If this thread was called "Let's Take A Bunch of People Who Like Subs And A Bunch of People Like Dubs And Have Them Flame One Another"...then I'd be unironically equating you with three to five Hitlers.

So. Um. Seriously. Look. I grew up with the prequels. I do not like them. I understand that everyone's different and different strokes for different folks or whatever...but I feel like we're in danger of upsetting some sort of ratio. The balance of good and evil may be in danger. Granted, this is a "confess your sins" thread but there are so goddamn many of you, and now you people aren't just saying you like the prequels but that you think they're better than the originals and...can't you people just murder puppies instead?

Welcome to Not Liking Anime Ville. Population: 50% of the Internet

I really may not have much in the way of nerd crimes to confess. I haven't played *insert important historical game here* or *awesome recent AAA title*, but that might be it. I pretty much either agree with the crowd or have an opinion on something with a pretty even split. The closest thing might very well be Sword Art Online, which is a currently airing. There's probably a 60/40 split of opinion on it, where 60% think it's the best anime of the season/year/decade/all-time, and 40% think it's a self-insertion story for shut-in otaku virgins about an overpowered main character who plays virtual reality MMOs while every girl in the world dreams of sucking his dick. I am a shut-in otaku virgin, and I am part of the 40%.

No, really, that's probably it. I don't like this one anime that everyone will forget in a year. Whoo-hoo.

I liked the ending of NGE, but that's more to do with the fact that I watched, continued to watch, NGE to feel comfortably numb about myself. It wasn't healthy but I'd say it's worth it all for the great message at the end.

There are Nerd Crimes? Well aside from the entitlement thing, what the fuck are "nerd crimes"?
From what I understand "Nerd Crimes" are iconoclastic opinions or shameful acts that run counter to established nerd culture and/or belief.

Maybe "Nerd Heresy" might be a better term. Because, well.... HERESY!

Mine are

1. I liked the game, The Path. Hipster Art game it was.

2. I don't think that Halo is a "gray and brown shooter."

3. I think Peter Molyneux is one of the few good people still left in the videogame industry. (Don't ever change, Pete!)

4. I like Zombie games

5. I've never played Deus Ex, Invisible War, or Human Revolution all the way through.

6. I think that The Elder Scrolls is a vastly overrated series (Morrowind was good though)

7. I think MMOs, in general, are a waste of time.

8. I preferred the Robotech 80s dub over the new SDF Macross dub, this is not nostalgia talking as I have watched both only in the past 2 years.

Well I suppose that's true enough. For all his faults he's one of the few in the industry still willing to break new ground.

I concur. The few I've played were boring as hell.

Also, I prefer dubbed anime over subbed anime, because I hate reading subtitles.

I don't like referring to myself as a "nerd", "geek", or any other synonym. I also dislike people who constantly refer to themselves as any of those.
