It was a game demo I found in PC Gamer(UK) quite a few years ago so I don't remember much of it.

All I know is this: It was a futuristic game where you was walking around on a space craft, you start in this corrider and you walk into this sort of restuarent/bar place and you are able to talk to characters and use items, for example using this computer you could view information about planets and species(including humans), the game was between the years of 1997 and 2003 i think.

Any info would be great :)

Nope. I don't have a clue about it so I haven't a picture of it. I don't have the demo disk or anything :( It was in 1st person perspective if that helps

Can you provide a little more information? Was it 1st person or 3rd person? Did it 'feel' like an action game or an RPG? Was there character creation? Would really make it much easier to work it out. ^_-

*Edit* You replied whilst I was busy searching games. :p

It felt kind of like an RPG. I mean in the bit i remember(the bar) there was various species of creatures that you could interact with, there was no fighting, i don't recall having a gun unless you get it later on in the game.

Edit: I'm downloading the Star Wars Elite Force demo now

sounds ALOT like elite force when you put it like that. on the ship at the start you are unarmed (i think you have a tricorder), you only recieve arms when on mission.

You wouldn't, by any chance, be able to hazard a guess as to which issue of PC Gamer that was? If we figure that out, it makes things easier all round.

Freelancer isn't exactly first person, though. It's a space sim with some extremely limited planet and space station exploration (think Bar, Weapon trader, Goods trader).

I also have to re-ask if the OP can make some degree of a guess of which PC Gamer issue the game was. Is there anything about the cover you can remember that we can use to track down the specific issue?
