I warn you now, my response contains spoilers for Assassin's Creed 2.

I apologize to any fans that might find this offensive but I just find the whole alien conspiracy thing to be a little, well, retarded... Yes between the DNA memories and the fact that Desmond can relive the lives of his ancestors there are sci-fi themes galore in the series but the whole aliens as gods thing caught me of guard. There's no building up to it, no hints of what's to come, they just show up of nowhere. It just seemed half assed to me, an attempt to get a response from the audience through shock value. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy the game but that just turned me off the series' story.

Fighting games, mostly. I can never remember all the comobos and shite. Only Soul Calibur series for this guy.
WoW
Nothing else, really. I try not to make a judgement before I actually play it.

The Halo series after the 1st Halo (combat evolved)
World of Warcraft (boring and repetitive)

Gaming's hipsters, because quality is too mainstream.

But on-topic, I find it tough to get into CoD. I liked 4. Great campaign, fresh multiplayer, blah blah. After that, going back to WWII just seemed like a waste of progression. Then Modern Warfare 2 soured the experience because of the pace. I've been a pretty avid Halo Online player since two. The randomness adds a distinct fun factor that many twitch based shooters lack.

I wasn't the greatest fan of Oblivion. The landscape was nice to admire, and some of the quests were enjoyable, but the gates were terrible, the way characters stare at you is creepy, and the story was uninspiring.

I think Mario is VERY over-rated. I like the 2D games, particularly the classics on the GBC, but the 3D ones are irritating.

GTA4, Red Dead Redemption.
Nothing against Rockstar, I mostly just hate the way that everybody acts as though they're god's gift to gaming when personally I think that Red dead was a bit meh and GTA4 was a bit shit.

Final Fantasy 13: Umm, if you're completely linear with no real character customisation then you're not an RPG. Also: WORST. CHARACTERS. EVER.

Never managed to get into Dragon Age Origins. It was kind of fun but the combat was fairly boring for me and the most fun was just roleplaying and trying to intimidate people with my little dwarf.

Fallout 3. Repetitive combat and enemies that cheat, random land mines, and super mutants that constantly cripple my legs or head and I can't fucking find any of the SO MANY stimpaks everyone else is apparently finding so the game is unfairly hard even on easy, the combat is extremely repetitive, and the ending pisses me off. I worked that hard on my character and grinding through the story only to get a shitty picture montage with a narration? What the fuck? I just wanted water that doesn't make me glow when I drink it so I could fight longer and don't have to constantly go back to my safe houses to sleep off my head injuries.
All your complaints make sense, except difficulty. VATS and just searching every place you go for stuff makes the game a total breeze. By level 20 on my first playthrough I was loaded up with so many stimpaks and awesome weapons that nothing stood a chance.
Well can you tell me where to find them? Because, I keep having to eat animal meat because I can't find what you and everyone else are apparently finding. I would relish the ease if I could get any. Where are you guys finding all of this stuff?
Literally, all over the place. SEARCH. EVERYWHERE. It really is that simple. Especially look in those first aid boxes attached to the walls in a lot of places.

Halo: Combat Evolved - seemed ugly and bland to me. But I played it around 2004.

GTA: San Andreas - not my taste. And the controls suck.

Any racing game - I suck at them.

Bioshock, it's just so hallwayish, and relies on jump scares. Does this mean I won't like Ayn Rand?
Yes, as far as I know, Ayn Rand is all about corridors and jump scares. :p

Call of Duty, Resident Evil 5 and Halo ODST come to mind.

I'm tempted to add Dragon Age because I will play it for hours and then the next day feel no need to continue where I left off. The it gets repetitive when its been a few months since I last played and can't remember my plans for my character so I start again and get bored.

The elder scrolls, oblivion

It was just plain boring. I barley got a hour into it before going back to fallout.

The Call of Duty series; I prefer games that aren't infamous for their large amounts of stereotypical, spoiled, white children that use slurs for every other noun and the f-word for every adjective/adverb. That and I prefer more realistic war games like Battlefield.

Also, the Mass Effect series. Played the first and a demo of the second, and the plot is just too bland and contrived; I thought the fighting parts were awesome, but every damn planet/mission felt exactly the same, and there was just too much uninteresting talking. To summarise; it was like KOTOR sans the interesting plot and with dragged out, dull sequences between anything interesting (i.e. KOTOR 2).

Half Life and Portal, They're good games but I don't think that they are as amazing as everyone makes out.

I think Mass Effect 1 and 2 are highly overrated. I don't get why people love them so much.

I also think Borderlands is a ton of shit. A total grind fest, hard and not fun at all.

Fallout 3

I could of cried playing the game as it was such a boring experience. Average start to the game that stayed average and then got to downright boring.
