Command and Conquer 4.

Ive never been a huge RTS player but for some reason I thought "No, this'll be different, Ill get into this and play the hell out of it! Yeah!".

Installed it, played a few missions and just thought, "Yeah... this isn't for me.". Promptly uninstalled and never looked at again.

Outpost by Sierra On-Line. The back of the box had screenshots, which to my 9-year-old brain seemed to be indicative of the gameplay. Turns out it was from FMV sequences, many of which didn't even appear in the game, but were only hidden in the game files. The whole game was incredibly buggy, boring and worst of all: It could have had potential. I am all about deep turn based strategy games, but it's simply not fun when your enemy, "The rebel colony" cannot sustain themselves for more than a few rounds before dying on their own.

I only spent 150 NOK (~25 usd) on it, but I could have had C&C: Red Alert (which I bought at a later time) instead.

Got it for £9 because it looked like it could be fun and it was an easy platinum trophy, but fuck did I hate every minute of the game. Annoying combat, extremely retarded dialogue and it was just overall boring...

Still, I got my damn platinum.

Infinite Undiscovery.

The main character was so annoying that I could only play the game for two hours (I couldn't pick it up again either). It gets worse when one of the supporting cast looks exactly the same as the protagonist except, he is actually interesting. So I spent those two hours wishing I was playing as him. The gamplay did not redeem the game either. Waste of £40.

My obsessive need to know all aspects of a story has led to some disappointing and pointless DLC purchases from Bioware and Assassin's Creed. 'sigh' Sebastian...

One of the reasons I had to buy Assassin's Creed revelations even though I found out, through playing it, that it really adds nothing more to the story.

I'd say Doom 3 followed by Naruto: Rise of a Ninja.

Doom 3 was basicly a snore fest that I was so suppose to be so "scared". The Naruto game had some good things. It was fun to actually navigate in the Ninja village. Although, the fighting system was broken and the game lenght was about 6 hours...Not fun for a 60$ title.

My most recent would be when I bought Avernum 4, 5, and 6 on Steam. It was several months ago.

I'm not a fan of top-down games and I get nothing out of turn-based grid systems. Why the crap did I buy THREE GAMES of that?

I'll tell you why: Because I wanted a new RPG, but Steam's selection seemed pretty piss-poor. I was desperate and it was on sale. Still, why? Erg.

Captcha is see-saw, and those are a lot more fun than Avernum.

I did regret buying a Razer Naga mouse (google it) not having used it at all while playing WoW.
But after playing Guild Wars 2 with it, it worked out surprisingly well.
So I did regret it, but not anymore.

Adventure game Called Book of unwritten tales.
problem is i can't get the damn thing to even start up also i found out i could of gotten it retail for 4quid instead of 17quid on steam...urrghhh (I don't hate steam or anything its just when i can i like to get a boxed version)
Shame because it looks funny and amusing to play. One of the trailers is a spoof of WOTLK opening scene.

Was also a duke nukem forever preorder person (+collectors edition..dear god was i really drunk at the time?!)

I,m really interested in the cold war and like the idea of a game set in that era.
Sadly the single player is really short and the game went down in price in a matter of weeks.

Collector's Edition of the Tron Legacy game, I was caught up in hype for the movie is my only explanation. Game was okay, but the collector's was a big waste of money.

Other games I regret buying; Force Unleashed 2, FF 12 & 13, MvC3.

But the biggest? Years ago I spent well over $1200 on imported LaserDiscs from Japan. Whenever I look at them now I see money I could have spent elsewhere, as now you can get any of that easily enough from Amazon for a 10th of the price. (at higher quality)

I wasn't at all disappointed with MW2, nor particularly MW3; the MechLab, instant action, graphics--all that was awesome, and the story mode was cool too. I like how it started you off on your own for a few missions, and gradually you found other survivors and built your lance before going off to lead your fellow warriors into battle.

Modern Warfare 2 was one of the worst purchasing choices I've made in recent years however, as well as Assassin's Creed 2. I shouldn't have bought them at full price--or even half price, in Modern Warfare 2's case.

Oh, and Operation Flashpoint 2--what a disappointment. It felt like it was meant for a controller. I'm sticking to ARMA for now and forever.

Exactly this, but i am a RTS nut. aI got it in sale, and i should have just re-installed generals or something.

Did you get it on PC or console? The last stand is where you get your moneys worth. I have played over 60 hours on it, Just mindless fun killing orcs with 3 other people.
