I screw around with stuff I've done using music loops in Mixcraft. A step down from actually recording music, it relaxes me, and gives me good mixing experience with different genres I wouldn't otherwise have to interact with. I'm not a recording engineer, but I play in a band, and we record our stuff mostly on our own, so it's good to at least know the basics when mixing times come up.

Hell, I'm actually doing this right now.

Run around in a fun Sonic game. Sonic Adventure 2 (and lately, Sonic Colors) have been pretty good for me in that regard.

Usually music, sometimes reading. I like games, but overall I don't find things that relax me in games... oddly enough.

I find myself getting pissed off a lot, and music really helps me. The funny videos on this website help too, thanks, Escapist.

Rain, or more precisely, sitting/lying in a tent during a gentle rain shower. Unfortunately, this isn't something I can do whenever I need relaxation...

Music definitly makes me feel better

agmes too but I think latley Ive been worring more ABOUT games than actually playing them

"Is PC gaming dying?? will there be less games?? will it all be multiplayer? what do you mean no one makes games for PC?? Mess effect is going to end??? will I have to get a console? but My TV in tiny!! which games will I get for PC and which for console??? I cant play shooters with a gamepad its retarded! aahhhhhhhh

yeah I have to much time on my hands

I thourght of another one if im really upset/angry I punch a wall so it hurts...the pain has a real calming effect (no I don't cut and never will)

Drinking copious am mounts of alcohol, listening to loud music, working out or beating a punching bag. Im not a very relaxed person though. I don't mind it all that much though.

For me, sitting on my deck, looking at the sunrise, sipping some tea and reflecting on my life is the most relaxing thing one can do.

Or smoking pot. That works pretty well too.

Unabated destruction, ether in a game or in real life is very satisfying. If I can, crushing boxes at work, stabbing a pile of cardboard with my favorite knife, or putting another dent in my well used punching bag are my favorites, but if Im out of cardboard and Im tired, I will pop in a good FPS and go for the melee kills, or slam in a sandbox and blow up a city block. He he he?

But if my Xbox is on the fritz, and I have time, I will meditate on the concept of life and how to improve it for those around me. (I try and think of ways to do good) or I don?t have the time for that or to game, a good song and a long walk (usually to my destination) will do it.

A hidden blade in some guys neck in Assassin's Creed has a very calming effect on me. Also, watching Corner Gas soothes my ruffles.

I've come to realise that, odd though it sounds, I find driving by myself to be a very enjoyable, calming experience. I'm alone, no one is talking at me or nagging, I can listen to music or the radio as loud as I want, and moving up and down the gears, flying down main roads and motorways or crawling through towns and villages very relaxing and kinda thereputic. I'm in a little bubble, my own world that I control.

So yeah, I was wondering how other people, namely you lot, achive this chilled out 'me time'. What calms you, what you do to ease your mind etc. Fire away, I expect some odd/ interesting answeres do dont dissapoint :D
I bet not so much when your jacked or hit ;)
mine is playing a fun game or locking myself in my room.

Taking a roasting hot bath while listening to music.

It does wonders.
I used to do that when I had that luxury.

Now, I spray eucalyptus on my shirt collar. It helps quite a bit.

Just kicking back and chilling with my best friend does it for me. Sitting back and just listening to her voice relaxes me, and for total relaxation her backrubs will you put you out like light in 10 minutes or less.

Yup...not that I would know or anything because pot is totally bad for you

What I meant to say was: Go for long aimless walks & play video games, maybe watch a movie or talk to a friend about whatever

I also find watching game reviews to be quite relaxing.
