Halo - The series has been in a pretty bad spot so far. Since 343 took the reigns, they have not been able to put out an objectively "great" game.
- Halo CEA: One of the industry's better remastered games, with entirely new visuals, music, and sound effects, and the ability to swap between classic and remastered. Criticised for reusing a lot of Halo Reach's and Halo 3's art assets. Multiplayer was a map pack for Halo Reach.
- Halo 4: Campaign was okay, and building on the MC's character was well recieved, and it was a lot more emotional than any other Halo game. Spartan Ops was trash. Multiplayer was a dumpster fire. New art style was not well recieved.
- Master Chief Collection: Broken and buggy. UI problems, crashes, limited customisation. Halo 2 Anniversary looks great, but is built on the Vista version of Halo 2, from which there are a lot of physics bugs.
- Halo 5: Campaign was a disaster. No split screen. Multiplayer maps are boring. No Forge mode at launch. Buggy. Microtransactions.
- Halo Wars 2: Campaign just kind of stopped. Flak from the Season pass. Used 343 Forerunner art instead of classic Bungie art, despite being on the Ark.
I keep hopeful, but I dunno. Maybe Im just scared to let the franchise go. Funny how their better games were just remaster's of Bungie's triumphs, but they can barely even get that right.
XCOM - Enemy Unknown and XCOM 2 are fantastic products. Moddability increase the longevity tenfold. Brilliant gameplay, and i'll always love the franchise from now on.
