Well, my friends, I am bored and I am looking for something to read. I have just finished reading The Divine Comedy and Edgar Allan Poes tales and I need something new. I am looking for horror preferably. I've been thinking of maybe H.P. Lovecrafts Complete Works but I would like to hear your suggestions

Hmm... you could read some early Stephen King if you like horror (I recommend The Stand); but one of my favourite books is The Road, by Cormac McCarthy.

Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels, (there is alot of them)

edit: Although it's not horror, it's more comedy, but I don't know of any horror books:p

A Game of Thrones-George R.R. Martin

A great introduction to a fantasy series that is ten times better than LOTR.

How was the Divine Comedy? I really want to read it.
I would recommend The Vampire Chronicles (Interview With the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, Queen of the Damned), it's very good, though it can be a bit hard to read sometimes. Also, Anne Frank's diary, it's not really a novel, but it made for a great read.

If you want a little old-school Gothic horror, check out The Monk by Matthew Gregory Lewis.

Try "Submarine" by Joe Dunthorne. I loved it, and you're the same age as me (it's really something for teenagers) - it's hilarious and the writing style is fresh.

"The Book Thief" (Markus Zuzack) is amazing, if you're into that sort of thing.

I'm about to start reading Bram Stoker's "Dracula".

Go with the HP Lovecraft Collection.

I can't help you with much else though, unless you like graphic novels. Then I could go on for an hour with suggestions.

If you want classic horror, you can't go wrong with Lovecraft. You may also want to check out some of Robert E. Howard's less known work - he's mostly remembered for his Conan the Barbarian stories, but he also wrote a large number of plain ghost- and horror stories.

Oh, and he was heavily influenced by Lovecraft!

I'm about halfway through the original 'Dracula' by Bram Stoker and it is absolutely brilliant. Look no further if classic horror is what you're lookin for. Also try some Stephen King. I'm also rereading 'Cell' by King for about the 3rd time and its a very interesting read.

Its fanfuckingtastic. Its sequels are a little bit more meh, but this book is amazing. Theres this part where The guy on the cover (Dagnerious) invades the city behind them. *Not really a spoiler because you can tell that that's were the book is heading* Its is beastly.

Lovecraft isn't that great in my opinion but almost worth reading to get some of the pop culture references.

I recommend Kafka instead. A collection of short stories with The Metamorphosis and The Penal Colony or a novel like The Trial.

World War Z... Ok it's not really "horror", but it is awesome and provokes some pretty sweet dreams if you have an active imagination.

Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman? Hell yes.
