search bar can fuck itself

So, fellows Escapists, I find myself in a position of uncertainty.

I recently (finally) purchased a Playstation 3. I also obtained Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and Metal Gear Solid 4. These were two titles I WANTED a PS3 for, and as such it is easy to see why they were the first titles acquired. Sadly, however, RCF, while improving greatly upon the many gameplay failings Insomniac has seen fit to introduce starting with the first sequel, has a totally fucked story, proving once and for all that Insomniac DOES NOT UNDERSTAND what made RaC fun to play in the first place, and what type of game the series is. Furthermore, while MGS4 entirely restored my faith in the MGS storyline (except this nonsense about Vamp not being supernatural), I was disappointed to discover that the presence of 40+ hours of gameplay NOT including cutscenes was largely an invention of reviewers. On the Big Boss Hard mode, failing constantly, on a low-to-no kill run, I had a final playtime of 22 hours. First time through.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is less time than it takes to do a complete playthrough of Kingdom Hearts 2.

The point of all that was to explain that I need ONE (as i don't have money for two) good length, DAMN good quality game.

I will be trading in Spore, Condemned, and one of my myriad copies of MGS3. Spore because it is disappointing and not fun, Condemned because it plain sucks, and MGS3 because I have three copies of it.

I already have a 360 and Wii, each with a large library of games I think are awesome. So if your suggestion is something to do with those, shut the fuck up.

Any thoughts?

I was going to recommend No More Heroes, but you suck, so, that won't happen.
So instead, get Dragon Age: Origins. I highly recommend it.

I heard inFamous is pretty good. It even got praised by our very own Yahtzee!

And thank you very much for giving me the mental image of masturbating search bar. Oh well.

If I recommend demon's souls, can I have a copy of MGS3
[sub]I spent weeks looking for a PS3 with backwards compatibility so I could play it, and it's apparently impossible to find[/sub]

If you don't already have it for your 360, Borderlands (the most recent game I got) is awesome. It's also very long if you do all of the side missions (and you might need to do a good majority of them if you don't want the game to be ridiculously hard).

As for PS3 exclusives, I've heard Uncharted 2 is a truly cinematic experience, and I plan on getting it very soon.

You are welcome. Infamous sucks though. Yahtzee was wrong. Prototype is better because not only can Mercer kill people in a VARIETY of ways, but he can CLIMB A DAMN FENCE.

No, you can't. And yeah, there are no more PS2-playing PS3s. I think they buried them with ET

No More Heroes is epic, and I already own it. Maybe dragon age though... maybe

This times a thousand. I really wouldn't recommend getting Dragon Age for anything except PC. The console controls are a little iffy.

Oh no, I got the console all right (because I'm awsome). I just can't for the life of me get my hands on a copy of MGS3 (it has to be PAL). Nobody wants to part with theirs :(

And seriously, try demon's souls, it's awsome. And the original MGS is on PSN, that is also awsome.

Oh, that's your problem. You live in PAL. You should fix that. Besides, all my games are North America releases

I know that it isn't at all what you were asking, but find a copy of Killer7 for the Gamecube if you don't already own it.
Sorry I can't really help you on the PS3 front, but I don't actually own one myself.

LittleBigPlanet is a great buy for the PS3, especially when you can play with friends. Uncharted is good, unless you already have those, though I assume you don't, and I highly suggest Borderlands.

Demon's Souls is a great game, so long as you don't mind grinding to completion. It is one of the few hack and slash games that prove to be a challenge in modern gaming. You can generally rocket through the first play through and then the real challenge begins. Really fun if you can get yourself into the swing of things.

If you haven't played the God of War games on the PS2 I really suggest getting the collection for the PS3. You will get two for the price of one and their graphics are a little upgraded from those on the PS2 except for the cut scenes.
