I can't help but notice that your video has the exact same backing music as this abomination.

Thoughts?

Pinkie Pie singing Smile Smile Smile will never cease to put a stupid grin on my face.
It's just so happy that you can't help but smile!
Well the first thing your post reminded me of was this...

I really need to hurry up and finish at least the first season of ponies.

Japan baybeeeeeeee!

Fukkireta is great music for just about any odd or bizarre thing just for how happy and anime it is.

Speaking of abominations, you ain't seen nothing yet.

At the moment the Rodrigo y Gabriella album Area 52 with C.U.B.A. is giving me a lot of enjoyment on the journey to and from work, this song (and scene) is currently one of the main things putting a smile on my face:

Raul Julia is one of my heroes. A brilliant Gomez Addams

Exius Xavarus

Casually hardcore. :}

Pinks songs tend to do that.

Some of Kelly Clarksons stuff.

And Halestrom

So I guess I like female singers with obnoxious lyrics when depressed.

Fallout boy tend to work as well.

Trubite it still amusing enough to make me sing along and smile even after all this time

Linsdesly Stirling for something softer which I always feel like dancing to but that would be terribly embarrassing.

and when all else fails this type of music + gaming is guaranteed to make me feel better.

They aren't necessarily my favorites, some of them I barely listen to when not feeling bad but they work for pick me ups.

Most Slam Jams and Rap X Anime/Japanese videogames mashups make me real happy.

Dude, d'yu mind if I ask where you bought those songs by Maximum the Hormone from (assuming these songs are on those ipods you mentioned, and not just youtube)? I'm from Britain and I can't find their albums for a normal price anywhere. Are they more available in the US, or did you just shell out the £30 for them?

(Oh, if you pirated them, don't post about it, wouldn't want you getting a warning because of me)

Thanks.
Well, it's been a while since someone ask me about a Japanese album I had (the last on being the soundtrack to FLCL), so I'll be glad to answer than for you...[footnote]And yes, all of the songs I linked are on my Ipod... Interpret that as you will later...[/footnote]

You see, I live in the part of Southern California where I'm less than a 2 hour drive from this area called "Little Tokyo"... There's this one Japanese store which mostly sold imported items from Japan like mangas, magazines, and figurines... At the time, the songs I linked from the section you quoted originally came from a CD one of my friends gave me which had some of my favorite anime opening and ending songs on it at the time... (I don't know if he did pirate those songs or not... I didn't know where he got them from in the first place... I stopped communicating with him after high school, anyway... But, that's another "more boring" story...)

Anyway, I was looking through this store's small music section, found a few albums from Nujabes and a few other EPs that caught my interest... When I saw that Maximum the Hormone's album Deco vs Deco had both the songs from Death Note, I used up the rest of the money I brought on the trip to "Little Tokyo" to buy that particular album and two of the Nujabes albums (Departure and Modal Soul) I already had planned to buy that day[footnote]I think each of those albums were a little over $20 when I bought them, though...[/footnote]...

Despite the fact that I do know a few websites that do give away these particular songs for free (kind of), I really like having a physical copy of the music I like to begin with, anyway... So far, I did find a store more closer to where I live that does sell imported Japanese albums (which is how I got a copy of the FLCL soundtrack), but even there the selection was limited... (at least to me, it was...) I do wish I could buy some of the other albums I've been still searching for (with only sometimes finding them from a legit import site like Play-Asia), but all those I can't buy "right now" I just keep looking... unless they're not producing any physical copies...

And, now for something "completely" different... (and on-topic?)
That should make anyone's day brighter... or not, since I'm not some sort of psychologist...

Man, I love those 'Little (insert country here)' places. I live about an hour and a half from Manchester, which has a little China, went there once, really enjoyed it, there's a lot of cool stuff there. All (well, some)of the fun of another culture without the hundreds of pounds a holiday costs.

Anyway, neat story and also, from my shopping around after your post put them back in my mind, I can get 'Buiikikaesu' for like £20 (including from play-asia, which I'll bookmark for further adventures into asian music), which is cheaper than what I found before, so I'll probably take the plunge.

Also, dude, Ronald McDonald was creepy enough as it was, without that madness.

Obligatory feelgood song that can't not be in this thread:

Ooop. My bad, didn't mean to do that.

Here's another. More suited to Halloween.

I love the Despicable Me sountracks, sue me :p
And, of course...

Plus more or less all of the Sonic R sountrack. Seriously.

I try to visit the "Little Tokyo" near me at least once or twice a year... It's just a fun place to go...

Yeah... I first used Play-Asia in order to buy the Final Mix versions of the Kingdom Hearts games, and now it's one of the few import sites I normally go to...

Well, the fact that he can be more scary than Kira himself makes me giggle a little...

Also, walking dancing down the street listening to this makes my day more brighter than what I've lead on before...

All I interpret is that you went to a pretty cool church. I just think of it as an affectionate parody of the story of Jesus. Jesus' story is even going on through the background of the story, and they make it clear that Brian isn't the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy he's just mistaken for one. Plus, attacking a film whose final message is 'always look on the bright side of life' makes me think you should spend less time complaining and more time following the message.

(Disclaimer: Of course, it should be noted that I haven't seen the movie in a while, and am not christian, so may be forgetting some majorly offensive parts, or underestimating the offensiveness of other parts)

So good on your church for having a sense of humour.

OT: Well, Electric Light Orchestra always make me happy, and as someone has already claimed their most famous feel good song I'll post my favourite.

Yes, this may have a sadder feel, but dammit, it's so over the top, cheesy and dramatic that it makes me smile that much more and make my day that much brighter.

(Also, I'd never watched the video before, or really seen any picture of what the ELO guys actually looked like, and damn, that brightened my day all the more. Between the perm, sunglasses, goatee and huge open collar, I think the lead singer may be the most 70s dude ever.)

Wish I could get an implant in my ear where everytime I get pissed off, this song plays. Instant better mood.

I've got a few songs that I listen to when I've had a really rough day.

There are many others but those are the most listened to.
God I love music.
