What superpower would you have?

The two biggest ones I dreamed of as a child (and still do haha) are teleportation and control over the elements. Teleportation, just because that beats flying or driving anywhere anyday. And control over any of the elements to put out fires, stop hurricanes, the list goes on.

Plus I would love playing with fire. Literally. xD

I believe I would go with having two bodies at once, simultaneously controlled, with the mental acuity to handle both.
Not a particularly flashy power, but one with a good deal of interesting uses. (hold down two jobs at once? Perfect double agent? Eat twice the pies? Power perversion potential?)

The ability to violate the laws of thermodynamics in any way I chose.
Creation and destruction rolled into one super power, hell you would be able to dematerialize things and turn them into true nothingness or the reverse of that as well, you could create something at will.

The ability to warp between this dimension and an alternate dimension (and back) where I can create and control anything at will (including anything I bring in from this dimension). Also, it's like Digimon where time goes extremely slowly in the this dimension while I'm in my dimension.

That sounds like two powers to me. Warping and controlling.

Good point. If I can only have 1 power, I'll with shape-shifting.

Those two combined would make for an impressive lifestyle.

If you controlled time, you could surely do some fancy-stuff-I-haven't-thought-about and make yourself immortal by freezing time in and on you or something? ... The idea of deploying time as a superpower makes my head hurt to be honest.

Nah all that time travel wouldn't matter you'd still die in 100 years (by using your age as an reference) The immortal thing is more for the problem that occurs during time travel. Lets say you get into a delorean and travel 6 months into the future. When you exit you are floating in space. Why? Because the earth is on the other side of the sun by then as 6 months has gone by.

My immortality would be for the "oh shit my bad" moment and give me time to fix it.

The power I'd go with is energy absorption, like Sebastian Shaw from "X-Men: First Class." Bullets would lose all velocity and harmlessly drop off, missile explosions would just be absorbed, and even the greatest fighter on the planet wouldn't make you do more that flinch! There are a few powers that counter absorption, but I could easily find a way around them.

Perhaps, the power to disable other powers. Kind of like anti-magic, I suppose. That or flying around with a cloud and using a willbending staff.

The ability to never need sleep and not feel any bad effects from it.

Think of it, I'll never be tired again, I have an extra 8 hours or so every day to do stuff, and it won't be a power that will draw attention and lead to Mulder and Scully knocking on my door.

I thought about that. But you would run out of stuff to do eventually. Would be hard to have a relationship. No sleeping next to each other etc. Thats like closeness haha

He wouldn't need sleep, he could still sleep if he wanted to I guess.

OT: My super power would be the ability to give myself abilities. Holy crap it'd be awesome.

Comes down to 2 choices for me:
A) Time manipulation. Control time itself. Someone coming at you? Freeze them or speed up yourself and ties their shoelaces together. Disarm a hostage taker by freezing time, walking up to him and taking his gun away. The ability for creativity with this power is unlimited.

Or: B) Matter/Energy Manipulation. Change matter itself into different forms. Turn carbon into diamonds or helium or gold. And since matter is a form of energy, you could just create energy or matter from other things. Again, the possibilities are limitless. Hell I could get a hydrogen fusion generator running and provide power for all.

Just give me the Infinity Gauntlet without the restrictions later placed on the gems. The IG effectively makes you a god if you use it correctly.
