I liked both 1 and 4 I dont really pay attention to detail just how much ass it kicks but 3 was designed by a COMPLETELY seperate artist from the others going for a different style (I heard this on the dmc3 special addition extras I think)
What the hell happened to the devil trigger?

Well the changes in the demonic look are most likely tied to Dantes chronological age. Seeing as DMC3 was a prequel and thats where he originally gets his devil trigger powers, it stands to reason that he would be less demonic looking in it, and Devil May Cry 2 is chronologically the last game, Dante would be older and more powerful, hence the more demonic appearance.
WHY IS CAPCOM SO STUPID!? DMC2 WAS OBVIOUSLY THE BEST DT. BUT NO!!! CAPCOM HAD TO GO AND TURN IT INTO CRAP!!!! DMC3 DT WAS HORIBLE IT LOOKS HORIBLE AND FIGHTS HORIBLY TO! They both work fine for me. Having not played a DMC game past 2 I'm shocked to see that...that thing that Dante turns into now.
Also I swear I'm the only one who though DMC 2 was just as good as any other DMC game.

Well he's developing his devil trigger so in 3 he would have his worst one, I forget the first one, fourth would be the second best, and in the second game he would have the best because he is at his best.
For those who dont know the chronological order is 3,1,4,2.

... I've been playing both DMC and DMC3(skipped 2) and I like both ways.
Sure one's more badass, but fuck, this is common knowledge and is accepted.
