What the hell is the deal with Evony?!

It seems that where ever I look, Facebook, Youtube, TV Links, even places like Amazon, and Twitter, there is a half naked women, "beckoning you to play evony". Now while this isn't so bad, whats the big deal? It is being advertised to a ridiculous extent, and quite frankly is not that fun. Can someone please explain, how this "phenomenon" got started, and has stuck?

I guess Evony is supposed to appeal to those who want to play games in the computer lab and at work without getting caught. It more or less distracts you from being productive by providing you with a means you fuck around with other people's time.

The best part is one of the ads even says you can play "discreetly". Yeah an MMORTS that wants you to play it without people watching. I think the sales department for this game has no idea what it is about.

Well, based on this [http://www.lazygamer.co.za/general-news/a-history-of-evony-ads-the-insanity-continues] it seems that, as time went on, Evony had to resort to more desperate means of brining in new players, and as the famous saying goes: "When all else fails, try porn."

Adblocker is pretty sweet in keeping Evony away. Then again I am hearing about them less. There was some legal issue they were having with someone and it seems they were going to court. I hope they disappear

Though those ads are annoying as hell...I find myself refreshing the page several times to avoid all the "<color=pink>Come and play, My Lord" nonsense.
It would almost be acceptable if it actually was some kind of porn game, like the "Play discreetly, <color=pink>My Lord" ads would lead you to believe, but no. Those massive breast'd women have absolutely nothing to do with the shitty game they advertise.

I actually quite like evony as a way of wasting time at work, As for the players being 99% boys thats not exactly true. Of the people i've spoken to on the game it actually seems 50/50. Yes it's not an amazing game, but it is free to play so can't really grumble. But it's the same with all advertising.... If you don't want to know about the product, just ignore it.
