Seeing as there's a big Valve community here, I'd like to ask you guys something.

I've been downloading Frontlines: Fuel of war after the weekend deal, and I was on 80% until a few seconds ago. It's suddenly restarted though, and I'm on 2% now. This is ridiculous, it's a 12 GB download as it is, I don't want to do it twice, seeing as I have a download limit.

Anyone else had this happen?

I don't download off of steam, so I don't get this problem. I get a hard copy, L4D2 only took a few minutes to install

Yeah, happened to me with Fallout 3, Call of Duty 4, Garry's Mod and Hitman : Blood Money. It restarts but after about an hour it leaps back up to normal again.

Yeah, happened to me with Fallout 3, Call of Duty 4, Garry's Mod and Hitman : Blood Money. It restarts but after about an hour it leaps back up to normal again.

I'm like 90% certain what you had happen is that for whatever reason it switched from "Downloading" to "Updating". This does happen to me every so often, and I don't know why, but it does not change total download time. It simply starts the % counter from what had been downloaded previously.

Good luck. That was just me so I hope you're just as lucky, and a step above a friend of mine who tried to get MW2 from Steam but it restarted at 99%... constantly. He's still trying to download it.

Yeah i had mucho grief downloading frontlines first up my payment had been taken then trying to start the download kept getting an error saying the servers were too busy wtf?

Then when eventually i got it started it took 8 hours to download tried to fire it up after it'd downloaded then got an error saying game not available yet another massive wtf?

Then saturday afternoon when i started steam up again it took 4/5 hours just to update it.

Never had as much trouble with any game from steam before not even L4D when i got it in one of the sales.

Yea happened to me with TF2, I just left Steam to it's business and it worked out fine in the end
