I was just playing Demon's Souls, going treasure-hunting. After defeating a rather difficult mini-boss, I proceeded down a ladder to claim whatever was down there. I went to pick up the item and I discovered that it weighed too much for me to carry. I dropped a bunch of heavy weapons that I wasn't going to use and went back to the loot. I discovered that it was an armor set after I looted the head gear and was told that the rest would be too heavy.
So I went back to the nexus and stored a bunch of stuff, and then fought my way back to the room with the armor. To my dismay, I saw that it had disappeared.
This has never happened before. I've had situations where an item was too heavy, so I returned to the nexus, and then came back and found the item still there. I've been stuck with the starting armor for 20 hours, and it seems I'll be stuck with it for some time yet.
Anyways, share your stories of how games have screwed you over.

Dragon Age Origins, I was playing that one quest where you fight through the haunted orphanage in the elven slums of some city.* Then there was this one paladin dude helping me out on the quest. So the demon appears and we beat it, and the thing flees to the next room. At that point my game decides to bug out on me, and I'm stuck in this room with no idea what to do. After ten minutes of running around in circles searching for a way to continue the game I load up an earlier auto-save and play through the quest again. Only to have it sorta bug up again, so I fight the poltergeist/demon/whatever, but then I can't do anything as it kills the blind dude while repeating dialogue from earlier scenes. So basically I botched the quest because the game kept bugging up on me. Not that big of a deal, but sorta annoying at the time.

Also when Ocarina of time deleted my data right after I had obtained the master sword. That was just evil.

That's actually what's supposed to happen(no idea why, it's super stupid), I guess you got lucky the other times. That's why you ALWAYS carry the Ring of Herculean Strength(you get it from giving the Jade Ornament to Stockpile Thomas) which gives +50% to item burden so you can equip it if you find something super heavy. Some sets of armor weigh 50+, and there's a hammer that's over 30+ by itself, so you should always keep your inventory weight low too because the ring by itself might not be enough.
