So strange. Yet so right. Seriously. [http://music.endlessnoise.com/track/dragonforce-through-the-fire-and-flames-country-version]

Is it appropriate? Is it a travesty? Hate it or love it, have at it. I know I'll think of this whenever I hear DragonForce now.

It's safe for work and won't eat your computer alive, I promise.

Edit: Wow, A thread I made hasn't attracted this much ire since I made an actual DragonForce thread. I just wanted to share a funny countrified song I found. Yeah I realize now I approached this topic from the wrong angle, but I'm human, I make mistakes.

[small]But what's really amazing is that spellcheck recognized countrified.[/small]

This is a form of advertisement, so I'm sorry but that isn't looked upon well here. I can understand you might like this group but this thread gives us nothing to debate and hence can be seen as free publicity, something the Escapist doesn't stand for. Sorry, but this isn't appropriate, and for someone who has been here as long as you have you should understand that.

I thought this thread was going to be about tinitus, it's actually about a Dragon Force song, and Dragon Force marginally worse than tinitus.

Jesus, you don't stop with the band threads, do you?
Do you think I do this a lot?

Besides, this is more about the shear ridiculousness of this song than DragonForce.

No it isn't. The user doesn't stand to gain anything, he's just showing us something.

OT: I actually quite like it, odd because I don't like the original.

There's no way I'm clicking on any link that hasn't been explained. That's my first problem here. The second one is that there's... No explanation. Okay, drat you, it's really just the one complaint. Would it have been so hard to take 2 minutes to tell us what's at the other end of this particular rabbit hole and what we're supposed to be discussing?

You never know. Especially when somebody makes a topic where they post a link without saying what it is. Even around here, we get "those" threads.

Trying to find something to say about this... Trying hard...
O.K, so I hated the original, and this sounds like it was made by someone with a yamaha keyboard. I guess it was supposed to be funny but just... Meh. I guess that sums it up.

How does this not apply to the above post?

Come on! It's a fairly regular user with 800 posts, and the topic encourages discussion.

Its not like it's some 1 post guy going LOOK AT THIS ITS AMAZING.

Because it's not HIS product or service. I don't give a shit what the definition is, use some common sense.

So the discussion point behind this thread is? The reason a whole thread needed to be dedicated to this when the user could have posted it in any other of the numerous music threads floating around is? The first thing I thought when looking at the OP was "adveristing" and I stand by that. The OP offers no real personal opinion or reason as to why it was posted on here, so why was it? That's what we should be discussing here.

I liked it and I hate country. I wouldn't hate country if they always had solos like that in it or the marginally-better-than-most-actual-country-singers-singing in this song.

I didn't like it that much, sounds like they only "countrified" the lead guitar and vocals, and not very well at that... Will take them a while before they can compete against Hayseed Dixie.

There's a song. We discuss it. It's not fucking rocket science.

How about you stop worrying about whether it's advertising or not, and either contribute, or don't post on it.

If it's advertising, then the mods will remove it, end of.

It's not advertising. If that was the case then every link to youtube would be counted as advertising for the video's creator, and where would the fun be then?

I have contributed. My contribution is voicing my opinion that creating an entire thread to revolve around one song is pointless and a form of advertising, something the Escapist does not need. Not everyone is going to agree with that, and that's fine, that is what discussion is all about.
