Love makes you do stupid shit.

EDIT: How the fuck did he receive these text messages?
Please tell me we're not giving them phones now.
Max, it's OK for you guys since you now have a decent President. We, on the other hand, live in a country where inmates in Broadmoor (very high security mental hospital for peadophiles and serial killers) are given DVD players and games consoles, and I read in my student newspaper today that the most prolific serial killer in recent UK history is potentially up for parole. This hardly seems surprising to me...
Excatly. We give our prisoners HDTV's and PS3's and sky in their cells. They don't have to go to court because they don't want to lose their comfy cells. It's human right gone mad. Giving them phones wouldn't surprise me at all
Hey where do you live, so I can go there and get arrested? No seriously, if they give you free shelter, food, AND GAMES WITH HDTV, I'm all in for it.

That's what everyone said at school, and you have a point. What's the point of working and having to pay bills when I can get all the perks for a few years in prison? It's so disillusioning :(

They have THAT here? man, I have to go commit a crime or something. And as to what you said, they get MORE than if you work hard and pay the bills. I seriously can't see a good reason why not to do this apart from the fact you can choose which games you will and won't play on the outside.

Don't know how to shrink quotes sorry.
Suppose that is a plus:
"Guess what, mass murderer? You're gonna get a treat!"
"Like what?"

Me neither, but they seem to be going away fine and cutting out quotes is unnecessary effort.

Hehe well better haze than something like... nah I couldn't think of anything, haze is pretty bad.

Maybe they're doing it like a competition: which prison wardens gamerscore will be the highest? Ever thought of that? Maybe they transfer really good prisoners like football players? I could be on to something here...

That reminds me of that prison in Russia I think, where the winner of a beauty pagant (women prison btw) got let out early.
You could be..it would be a great TV show.. if there was wrestling commentators on the show:

Have a read of this BBC news article:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/7901565.stm

For those disinclined to read the article a female prison officer was found to have sent saucy text messages and started an intimate relationship with one of the inmates she works with. She was found to be in possession of heroin and cannabis which allegedly she was smuggling in for him.

She has lost her job, her work mates, pension contributions and, if found guilty, will serve a lengthy prison sentence. She will not have a good time in prison as an ex officer. I doubt staff or inmates will give her an easy ride.

He cant be that much of a catch being in prison and desperate for heroin. Was she expecting hed get out and theyd live happily ever after?

Why is it always female staff that do this sort of thing? There are plenty of women who work with offenders and do an excellent job but when someone loses there job for inapprpriate relationships with prisoners it always seems to be a woman.

Any thoughts?
Happens every so often. Sometimes people forced to be around each other click with each other.

A lot of those relationships turn ugly though.

MTV celebrity deathmatch crossed with professional gaming? I like, I like. It would be interesting to place your bets though, you'd never know who would win XD.

But the whole letting out early thing seems to be obvious since most celebrities get things like that anyway. I'm tending to say it's unfair especially with pop stars. Let them suffer, they probably got a reduced sentence anyway since they can afford the most expensive lawyers.

I guess I just have a very uncaring/cruel side. It might even get me thrown into one of these playstation fitted cells after going on a murderous rampage. I'm still debating whether I'd use a crowbar, a pipe wrench, or a 360 controller (I know the last one is difficult, you can't even use the classic controller style strangulation technique with the cord).

Shes meant to be a professional, there are boundries. Its a little different than falling for the girl in your office. Plus if shes smuggling heroin in for him not only is she breaking the law and risking a lengthy sentence, hes a blatant drug addict, most addicts manage to stay clean in prison so he must have been bad. Not the sort you take to meet the parents, even on ROTL (day release).

She must have been needy and vulnerable, probably no oil painting. Just makes me dispair.

I didn't say it was a good relationship or that they weren't foolish.

I stated the fact that two people in close proximity often do form attachments. See related subject: Stockholm Syndrome

I feel excatly the same, Paris Hilton's sentence was bullshit. I don't care whether it was 30 days, she needs to be in jail for 30 days, not 3 damnit!
You're right about the controller, and it could take a while to kill someone by beating them with it... crowbar I suppose.. its good enough for Freeman then it's good enough for me!

Do they still let prisoners/inmates/felons/whatever they prefer to be called, visit high schools and tell the kids not to misbehave or the youth'll end up with a ruined life like they did? I took a Law & Justice class in high school, and the Commonwealth of Kentucky was fine enough to send us some felons from one of the state penitentiaries to interview.

Both of them agreed that they could get anything they wanted. One of the guys had multiple cell phones, as they are apparently one of the easiest items to get. The black market they had going on was complicated and interesting.

She may have been in love but she shouldn't have gotten close to the inmate in the first place. I can't speak from experience as I've never worked in a prison but I doubt that prisoners and wardens are meant to interact much.

Yeah, ive read all about stockholm syndrome its not usually referrenced in prison environment, its more to do with abuse cases and hostage situations. This was like the stockholm syndrome in reverse.

We are going to let prisoners out at some point. Best try treating them like human beings and hoping they can be reformed, rather than making them even more brutal and violent. Believe me when I say that a lot of prisoners can learn and build a better life for themselves and others when they are given the help they need.
Reforming doesn't work in an institution setting. Just watched "Louis [Theroux] Behind Bars" and most people recommit when they're released. Some people are just twisted and get off to things the average person would consider immoral, can't/won't be taught otherwise and should remain behind bars.
Hmm.. possibly. It would probably make more sense in those cases to find a way to reform people without institutionalising them. Prison (at least the UK/US versions) seem to be failing quite badly. Brutalizing has the opposite effect of that which is desired (removing the danger without removing the person).

What piece of shit legal system allows convicts mobile phones in prison?, this isn't fucking detention.

What statement are they trying to make where convicts are handed better lives than a low class citizen's?
