My very first would probably be Pokemon or DBZ, but I was more staring at the pretty lights than anything else. My first real anime would probably be Sailor Moon. Yes, I am a dude, yes it is scary in retrospect.

Pokemon and Digimon, waaaayyy back in the 90s when they first started broadcasting them here in the US (albeit, dubbed and cut, but I was too young to notice or even care back then).

Oh well let me see here it was......Dragon Ball Z!

Too bad I ALWAYS had to wait till the 'next time' for something to actually happen, but then when something was supposed to happen the introducer's voice would come on and say "...until the next next NEXT TIME ON DRAGON BALL Z!"

All in all that was a fantastic series though.

Thinking back far into my mind, that would have to be Speed Racer or Star Blazers. I don't remember which was first, but I do remember Robotech and Voltron being much, much later.

Well, I must be the old guy in the group, because I'm gonna say Starblazers (english version ) but it also could have been Captain Harlock or Astro boy. I still like em all today and look forward to the live action version of starblazers ( japanese version).

If movies count then I was practically raised on Ki-Ki's delivery service and spirited away.
If they don't then the first three that I watched on a regular basis were Dragon Ball Z, then Yu Yu Hakisho, then Yu-Gi-Oh.
My first manga was Death Note.

I think it was Digimon, followed by Pokemon, Tenchi Muyo, or DBZ, back in the 90's when I was too young to care whether something was dubbed or cut. Or Starblazers, if you count the fact that Dad got a DVD set of Quest for Iscandar and had me sit and watch the whole thing with him. Or, if we're talking movies, then I'd probably say Kiki's Delivery Service, though I don't really remember any of that film. Like, at all. All I know is that I've seen it.

Voltron! XD

If we're not counting that: Sailor Moon, like many other girls my age. XD Sailor Moon is still a favorite of mine--though I don't care much for the anime nowadays (the manga is about a million times awesomer).
