Shenmue II
I played a lot of games before that and spent quite a lot of time on then and stuff since i was 4 and i first played Sonic 2 but it wasnt untill i was 11/12 years old and i poked Shenmue II that into my Dreamcast did i really become a gamer.
Also finding RTS games probably cemented me in the world of gaming.

Final Fantasy VII and GTA Vice City, first two games i owned and they were wicked, oh and twisted metal 4 for ps1 (still best in the series). I boughht ffVII for like 5 bucks too and i ould sell for like 100 lulz.

Warcraft 2 when I was seven got me into RTSs.

Tekken 3 got me interested in games.

Final Fantasy VII got me hooked because of my OCD tendency of having to get everything in an RPG... Pokemon didn't help either.

Pool all those together and you have me at the age of 8.

Mario Brothers on the NES. I can vaugely remember my cousins playing it and me watching whilst I had chicken pox and felt awful, but I'm fairly positive that was the first game I ever played.

I started playing games unawarely since I was 3 but the game I do remember playing a lot when I was young was games on the N64 like Super Smash Brothers, Banjo Kazooie, and Legend of Zelda. I guess that made me into a "gamer" but I didn't really get that serious of a gamer until I was around 10.

Gosh, there were so many. I always liked Sonic, but then I moved on to Legend of Zelda: OoT and FF7. Those really did it for me.
