Dullahan in Golden Sun 2. Fucker regenerated all of his psy points every turn, about 200 health, and had an attack that would kill 3/4 of your party every time he used it. Oh, and he could take away all of your djinn every time he got bored.
Doom Dragon, same game. Still had the djinn removal thing, and had a truly monstrous amount of health. Took about 2 hours to beat, most of that time spent healing my party...
For Dullahan, use high luck and high HP classes like the Pure Mage and Protector. That severely reduces the chance that Charon will instantly down a character by a lot. You should have at least 2 characters who can revive alive at all times and at least one person who can use Wish alive as well. PP restoring equipment, like stuff made from Mythril is great for your healers, although you can substitute with Psy Crystals. Switch anyone who gets Djinn Storm'd ASAP, squishier characters are a priority.

Behemoth King in Final Fantasy VI
I kept killing him, he kept coming back, I never thought to use holy water on him until the 30th (ish) time I killed him

I think for me it would be pulling down the Star Destroyer in TFU.

Shaddup, it counts.

Basically because the lower it gets the more difficult it is the position it right so it can be brought down. I was destroying the fighters and attempting to position the ship, moving my mouse as fast as I could and giving myself wanker's cramp in the process but the game seemingly would never give me enough time and I'd have to fight the next wave of fighters. By the time I had destroyed them the ship would be all skewed again and the process repeated itself over and over and over.

Finally I tried to use a little logic. I reckoned as the game was a console-to-PC port it would require console-like motions the get it to work properly. The best way to do that with a mouse was to make long slow-as-possible sweeps. Suffice to say it worked but it took far too damn long for me to actually use my head.
I played it on a console and it took me forever. I eventually looked it up on YouTube realized the "helpful" controller instructions weren't actually telling me what to do. Which is like the only time in the game where you're not supposed to do exactly what's on the screen.

The final boss of Star Ocean 4. due to the game confusing challenging with absurd amount of HP. Took the better part of a hour or two

Nyx gets runner up for my own stupidity of not dis-charming Ken and having him full heal Nyx's final form

Final Boss in Zelda the Phantom Hourglass. Ugh, I kept waiting for him to actually die.
Exactly the same way I felt battling him except I yelled "stupid touchscreen" each time I wrote in an hourglass pattern and it didn't respond.

OT: Minerva, the hidden boss, in FF VII:CC. Not only did it take forever for me to complete all the requirements to allow me access to fighting her and also gather all the summons, abilities and equipment required to defeat her but then also find out the battle can be so easily lost if you don't concentrate and even when you do all that it still takes at least three hours to wittle down her health as she constantly reheals herself and launchs a super attack every few minutes. Though I was really surprised and happy I was able to defeat her at lvl 85 when all the guides screamed "GET TO LVL 99 BEFORE FIGHTING HER".

The first two battles were actually fun, but the possessed boss fight was monotonous. Oh, and guess the only boss you can replay after you've beaten the game?

Oh, and I think it was a boss in Dragon Quest, because I kept leaving the game mid-battle to do something else, and because it's turn based nothing would happen.

Maybe thirty hours went into a boss that could take fifteen minutes.

I'll go with Ruby Weapon from FFVII. Even though the character that was left from his "remove character from party ability" was the one I wanted. The f***er still took forever to kill. Of course, that was an intentional design.

Probably one of my attempts against The End in MGS3. Definitely took about an hour because I forgot how to get to one area for a while. If I ever get back to playing FFXII, then Yiazmat is sure to take the record forever.

The last boss in Bullet Witch on the hardest difficulty. Cheating bastard did nothing short of move around and drop meteors.

I remember fondly the tension in the air, the day I took down Ultimecia in Final Fantasy VIII. Each one of her three forms took me forever to take down, simply because I was working with about half of my commands unlocked (For anyone whose played FFVIII, you know how annoying that was).

Probably the Avatar of Kain in DOW2, took me almost an hour of hit and run.

I think either I was doing it wrong or more likely that I just was not a high enough level and wasn't carrying a good enough loadout.
You were good enough geared and high enough level.. The Avatar and the Warboss.. Both takes shitloads of time to get rid of, had the best gear and played on max difficulty, each takes.. what.. 40min or so?

Hardest boss.. Could be Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts. Otherwise, probably King Allant in Demon's Souls.. I was underleveled..

Oh that's what that guy actualy does? Harsh Well at least you didn't think you had to get past the archer statue by sprinting between the volleys of arrows over a half dozen times.
