Half-Life 2, when I was 13; not all that objectionable, and it's a well-told story with solid gameplay.
But he says F-- you near the ennnnnddd... whineywhineywhineywhiiiiiinnnnne....

StarCraft, back when it was M/18+ when I got it.

But since it got bumped down to T, my first M game that STAYED M would have to be Quake

Well, it's kind of irrelevant for me, since I was already 15 when we started rating games, and I turned 17 before M-rated games became common on consoles (I was a mainly console player); When you're an "adult", doing "adult" things ceases to be a big deal.

Though I did play Wolfenstein 3D (which was given an M rating retroactively as is not the 2nd oldest M-rated game) when I was 13.

Not that any of that matters since I've been watching R-rated movies since I was 5...

That was probabl either Mortal Kombat 4 or The Mummy. Back when i was around 10, i think.
Loved The Mummy, not so much MK4.

most of these listed games are rated M which is 17+ not AO(didn't bother raeading all of this). In fact NO STORE in the U.S. sales AO games.

Doom for the DOS, I think. I would be either 5 or 6 at the time I first played it. Which would be 3-4 years after it was released. Mortal Kombat followed suit. Along with games like Diablo, Unreal, and Quake. I remember playing Quake in a LAN party with my brother and father. Ah, those were the days.

I live in Australia so no 18+ for me

OT: The first game "Considered" to be 18+ in other counrties was GTA 3 when I was 13, there was Mortal Kombat 4 on N64 when I was 9 but that game was only rated M15+ from memory, not even good enough to get a MA+15 rating so I wont count that.

Australian here. Never played an 18+ game. That said, I've played pretty much every game mentioned in this thread, and those I haven't have been because they're not my style. I guess this censorship thing isn't so bad, huh?

Mortal fucking Kombat. I was about 8 I think when I first saw it, and I thought Sub-Zero's spine rip fatality was the greatest shit in the world.

Fun times.

Depends on how you define it. The very first one I ever played was the demo of Thief II; I do remember feeling a strange combination of excitement and disgust as I snuck up behind a dude, cracked him on the back of the head with a sap, and threw his unconscious body into a fireplace. It wasn't all that graphic, especially by today's standards; there was little gore or dismemberment (maybe the zombies, though they weren't in the demo that I played) ? just some brutally violent actions that the game let you execute, and splashes of blood whenever someone got hurt.

The first full game I got was American McGee's Alice. This one was genuinely a pretty bloody and gorey game; lots of cutting weapons, blood splatters, gore, and elaborate death animations.

Well if we're counting M games, even though those are 17+, I'd have to say about 4yrs old latest with Duke Nukem, Quake or Doom... its one of those three... XD But if we're counting games rated 18+ those only are AO games which are very rare... I think the only one of those I've ever played was the uncut version of manhunt 2 and it really wasn't bad enough to be AO in my opinion.
