Astonishingly enough, my first M-Rated game was Dead Rising, which I eagerly purchased a little bit after the Xbox 360s initial launch.

I had a pretty strict upbringing, so I really didn't get to experience the good M-Rated games of the N64 days (which is when I started gaming); luckily for me, the majority of games back then were all "family friendly," so I still got to experience a sizable portion of gaming history.

Today, I spend most of my time playing current M-Rated games, as well as catching up on some of the old ones I may have missed when I was a lad.

My mother bought me Kingpin: Life of crime. I was grateful.

edit: Thinking about it, I had Mortal Kombat on the mega drive(and probably a whole bunch of others that I am neglecting to recollect.

Could be the language, violence, or large amounts of gore.

Grand Theft Auto 1.

I remember downloading the demo off of HappyPuppy when I was 7 or 8.

First M rated game I bought was System Shock 2.
Aw how I wish I knew about System Shock 2 when I was young. I'm trying to find where I can buy it, ever since I heard it was like the original Bioshock.

Same here I honestly don't know why the Halo series is M there's barely any gore and language it seems more of a T rated game if you ask me.

Probably the Die Hard Trilogy on the PS1 when I was about 9...there was so much blood and violence in that game, sure if my parents knew what it was I'd never have got it.

I'm pretty sure it was Doom or Mortal Kombat. But was there a proper rating system back then? They mighta been rated T, or not at all. First M-rated game I clearly remember buying was Vandal Hearts.. wait.. or was it Daggerfall? Bleh, who cares, none'a them deserve to be labeled "mature" anyway.

Probably Conker's bad fur day on the N64. It was my dads I can't believe he let me and my bro play it as I was 12 at the time and my brother was 8 or 9. Great game though.
