How long did it take for you to start your own thread?
Was the first thing you did here making a thread, or did you wait until something needed your immediate thread-starting. Or have you not started your own thread yet?

Also, can you recall what it was about? I'm rather interested in knowing, it might help me find out more about how we Escapists tick.

Mine was a thread asking for help after I.... accidentally removed my Recycle Bin from my desktop... The first response was a rather rude remark.

What was your most successful thread? What made it so successful?
What was it about and how many posts/views did you get/ are you getting?

I think it took about ... 100 posts or something.
I posted on other threads as usual. Then one day there was something I was curious about. And so I did a search for similar thread (That's right! I did a search!. I had lurked enough to realise taht's the best to do). Didn't find one, so I made it myself

I think it may have been the one about what half life really was. At least I know it was some kind of semi-succesfull thread. It got about 40 posts or so. The next got about the same. Then the third got more than fifty =P

First thread I made about 2 or 3 weeks after making an account, the "whats your religion" thread, I was quite annoyed as I accidentally hit enter while typing the title and returned to fix it about 45 seconds later and there were at least 4 posts informing others to report and move on and that it would bring a flame war, well it didn't so whoever made those comments please go fuck yourselves as it was your fault that it was locked although it had no flaming. Also it got me excellent topic and hot topic

Well, it would get flamed, though. And usually all threads that start off with (no text) gets locked pretty fast. Except for the "lol what" ... Incredibly enough. I would have thought that anything resembling Eggo would get the boot before it could start breathing =P

Luckily you've learned that religious threads are not a good idea here =P

Mine was post number 130 or so. As you can see from my post count and join date I tend to lurk more than post.

As I recall, it was made around 3 in the morning after a particularly successful drinking match with a few buddies. We started watching Youtube videos and saw the "Man Laws" commercials for Miller Lite, then we started making up our own man laws. I then created a thread to see the laws my fellow Escapists could come up with.

That's because I didn't understand squat. The point is when you make a new thread (especially Forum games, since you have to establish the rules, and make sure everyone understands it), you have to be sure that your OP is understandable. Take every possible outcome into consideration. Make sure you have enough meat on it, for everyone to understand

Needless to say I got a couple of badges from that thread too, like hot topic. I think I can thank Erana for that, she didnt really respond well to that topic and kept the thread active for a while.
