Advanced Dungeons and Dragons

::Insert elitist rant about how many geek points I should get for saying PnP::

For video games, I'm not so sure. I came to video games pretty late. Id say Diablo, but I'm not sure I can count that as an RPG. So actually, Final Fantasy VII was probably the first RPG proper I really played.

I find it interesting that your first RPG is one that was never officially released outside of japan.

Crysalis for the NES. My parents thought it was the devil's work incarnate though so I never got to finish it. (I'd borrowed it from my neighbor.) *sigh*

First RPG I played was probably Pokemon Ruby. First console RPG I played was Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker at 6, I got it with my Gamecube (there was something about that golden box...) But I don't really count Zelda as an RPG, it's more of an action game to me, so to me, Tales of Symphonia. I was 7, and I didn't get it (e.g. why wasn't I doing any of the fighting?)
