I'll point the finger of blame at fighting games in general since Tekken 5 (maybe earlier) since they've gone on a bender of making impossible final bosses. Fuck you Jinpachi Mishima.

I'd wonder what the studios behind the genre are collectively smoking. Probably PCP given the seeming super-human abilities they possess.

Rant over. What developer blunders/asshattery, have completely driven you to the edge of insanity and made you wonder what they're smoking or what kind of sick sadistic freaks they are?

Basically, any character design for a Square Enix game.

Also, the second Dead or Alive Extreme game and it's... physics. (Didn't play the game myself, and am glad)

I accidentally rented that once, thinking it was dead or alive 4. I tried to take it back, but they said no and looked at me like I was a perv.

Bungie, who the fuck brought the stupid stick and beat you with it, making you decide that LASOing levels was a good Weekly Challenge? Seriously, what the fuck?

Ohh, dear god. LASO. I cannot stand that difficulty. Hell, I can't even stand normal Legendary most of the time. It's the Black Eye skull that gets me most, though.

Another thing that comes to mind is the section in Half-Life 2 where they make you fight 2 gunships at once in an area with little cover.If I'd been on any difficulty higher than Normal, I swear I would have burnt the game with the fires of my own frustration.

I also found the spider-thing boss in Metroid Fusion ridiculously hard the first time. On later playthroughs, I find it's not as bad, but still brings back nasty memories of many, many hours spent trying to kill the fucking thing.

Shao Khan has super armor on pretty much every attack, which makes him the absolute worst fighting game boss in history. I too turned it down to Beginner before I could actually beat him, and even then it took several tries.

The way super armor works is it makes you immune to staggers while you're performing a certain move... so if you hit him while he's tossing his giant hammer of stunning ridiculousness at you, your attack doesn't stop his attack and you get stunned for 10 seconds, while he pounds your face into oblivion. It's incredibly stupid.

Permanent aim assist in CoD. I've done rants on it before, so that's all I'll say.

CoD has aim assist, like in multiplayer?

I wouldn't see how that makes any sense. I mean when I played Borderlands and went through the options I noticed Aim Assist was automatically selected so I turned it off. It makes me feel dirty.

Anyways please tell me they don't use Aim Assist in MP.

The person who designed the final chapter of Dead Space. Seriously wtf? Talk about ruining a good thing.

Yes, they do. And until the BlOps multiplayer, you couldn't turn it off. And even then, you can't turn it off in SP and zombies.
