What/why do you hate about Facebook?

(I looked and I didn't see any other thread about this soooo yeah)

So I'm on Facebook (and I know what some of you already think about that (about being on FB in general)) and I have lots of friends on it too. Now most of them are pretty swell but some of them are just so friggin annoying! Some of my friends only ever have some stupid poem as their status' or type in all caps and don't even get me started on all the stupid requests I get from people. Also whenever I make a comment on a friends picture, I then have to be notified of EVERYONE'S comment on said picture.

So What/Why do you hate about Facebook?

The Android App has gotten really terrible. Like three years ago it was a lot simpler and you couldn't do as much, but it worked. Hire some decent code monkeys, Facebook!

Also, I added my kindergarten teacher to my Facebook, and today she made a bondage reference. Not okay.

I don't have anything against the website just a lot of people that use it.

I don't use it myself but my wife has an account she made for something to do with her WoW guild and a lot of things I see when i'm being nosey make me cringe.

"Like this if you hate bullying" .... yep, that's bound to help.

People that update with everything they are doing right down to picking fluff out of their belly button.

And far too much text talk. "I luv my bby" was one comment of my wifes friend that forced me to mock her for 3 hours when she came round for a coffee.

But aren't parentheses for detailing your inner thoughts when you're talking about something though your thoughts are little off-topic but kind of not?

A few things.

One: Those people who update for every little thing.

Two: I'd get people who I don't want to know asking me to add them. Friends of friends. The kind of people you'd put up with whilst you were around the guy who knew you both, but if left in a room with them alone you'd probably end up in an awkward silence or a fist fight.

Three: I don't want other people sticking their noses in to what I'm doing. Where I am. What I think about something. If I want someone to know something I'll tell them.

Overall it's the whole "Someone is doing something, look!" "Here's what someone else thinks about that" "Like this if you [x]". I. Don't. Care. And so I stay out of it.

So yeah, those "like to save/stop x" do get on my proverbial tits. That and the drama queens/attention whores - who luckily I seem to know very few of - that go "ARGH. PROBLEMS! PROBLEMS EVERYWHERE!!!" and then when somebody asks what is wrong they comment saying "Oh it's nothing" or something along those lines

I use Facebook purely to keep in contact with my friends and certain family members. But it has its issues.

What do I hate about Facebook? Here's one incredibly grating thing:

I'm fairly sure it's the exact same person running a good number of these pages.

1)I hate that for how much I hate the bloody website I feel like if I were to delete my account and stop using it, I would lose touch with the other 5 people in my life I interact with but never see.

2)I hate the whiny douchebags who write statuses that are blatantly aimed at people yet are too afraid to just put their name on it.

3)The inane "one-upping" bullshit that gets spouted every day

4)People who post 400 new holiday pics - First of all, nobody gives a fuck unless you are fit and wearing a bikini.

5)Like this if you think (insert utterly unrelated picture to a retarded statement)

6)I know 97% of my friends won't pass this on... Yeah for good fucking reason.

7) People that think posting their personal life on facebook is the best way to reduce drama in their life

8)When somebody gets freaked out when you mention a favourite hobby of theirs that they put in their profile and they say "OMG can't believe you stalked me!"

9)Seeing the posts of people you don't know when they post on a friend's wall you barely know either

10)Drunk pictures - WHY THE FUCK WOULD I WANT TO SEE THE SAME PICTURES OVER AND OVER AGAIN

At first you think it could be useful.

Then you realize that you fucking hate everyone.

People are just mongering for attention and Likes. Some of the processes are just retarded. "Like this post if..." is a huge problem. Drama is fucking everywhere and always trivial. Stupid pictures is another. If I see someone post "TBH" I flip tits.

I personally dislike it because it tacitly encourages superficial friendships and laziness in interaction (says he posting on an Internet Forum). I seriously know households where the people within them rarely talk to each other and just post messages to each other on Facebook. Mind you most of those households had communication problems to begin with, but in the past they actually had to have it out face to face.
Plus I'm really not interested in making random friends who think my profile picture is awesome and whom I'll never actually meet; or to be reacquainted with school friends that I haven't seen in 18 years (yes I'm that old). There's reasons those people aren't in my life any more and I'm cool with that. I don't personally care what they've had for breakfast this morning or who it was with. All the people I know and love know where to find me if they want to catch up.
I much prefer my interaction to be face to face, but then again I'm not fond of talking on the telephone because I can't read people's expressions.

That said I think Facebook is great for people who are physically isolated from their friends and family to keep in touch. More power to them.

To your first part, I also hate it when someone posts something stupid like "I'll know that my real friends will re-post this stupid fucking chain-letter because like me, they're also fucking idiots"

As in people constantly trying to get one up on each other.

"I have the best husband in the world"

"We are going on holiday in 234 days" (and counts down every day)

"My girlfriend is the best xxx"



Basically, people only posting things to deliberately make other people jealous or convince them their life is great and amazing. Sometimes it's genuine. When they post the same things every couple of days it's pretty transparent.

Pretty much everything that has been posted above. I hate it when people put something like "OMG fuck my life it's just the worst." Then when somebody post a comment asking what's wrong they reply "it dm(doesn't/don't matter, for anyone wondering)" Another thing I don't like is that my mum has me on facebook so I can't post half the hilarious shit I think of. Nosey *****(half joking the ***** part is a joke, don't tell on me). The Emile Heskey jokes are getting old now. The wannabe LADs that are knocking around on facebook infuriate me. People that use words like "fam" and "bredthren" are annoying as well. People that brag about smoking weed, it's the same with youtube comments you know the ones that post on Bob Marley videos "Yes me and ma bros getting stoned to this lad." I could go on but it's 3:53am and I've got a lot of not sleeping to do.

I think it's just boring. People find all kinds of things to do there, but not I. I was there for about a month, YEARS ago, and just lost interest. It's boring.
