What would cause a fight?

Okay, this is a question for those of you who have or have had a boyfriend/girlfriend.

What are some things that you and your boyfriend/girlfriend have gotten into fights/arguments over? They can be common reoccurances, or things that only happened once.

And for those of you that haven't had a boyfriend/girlfriend yet, what are some things you think would cause fights?

It can be something as small and as petty as not closing the fridge door completely, or as big as being caught cheating. Anything and everything goes.

I'm working on a piece of fiction and I'm trying to do a little brainstorming for a certain part. Thanks in advance!

for those of us who had relationships? you just cut out 99% of the escapist here buddy.
And that was why I also included a part for people that haven't been in relationships. I know that some people here have, and some haven't, and I was still hoping to get brainstorming from everyone.

Check out the "worst relationship experiences" thread if you're short on personal experiences to frustrate you into smacking your head into a wall.
Or get someone drunk after their recent break-up, guarantee they won't STFU about it.

*sad face*

If I did though a fight would probably start because of me not being "manly" enough or something like that. Ha! Like I need to be manly when I can just sit and obsess over my favorite cute things.

The only two things that ever got to me were ignoring the needs and career/life goals of your partner, and cheating on them. Everything else pales in comparison imho.

I'm going to start raging if I keep thinking about all this, so I'm going to stop here.

I am happy to say the girl I have been with since summer began is, in a sense, perfect. Not one fight, argument or even a disagreement yet!
My previous girlfriend, however, would fight with me if I:
-Hugged a girl friend
-Didn't answer her text while on phone with a girl friend
-Got jealous if she would blow me off for a guy who liked her
-Asked her if we could talk
-Disagreed with her
-Walked anywhere near her best friend, who had a crush on me
-Texted her while she was hanging out with her ex boyfriend
And so on.

Well... If I was in a relationship, a fight might sound a little something like this...

Girlfriend: Why do you look at anime girls all the time?! What?! Is it like you think they're better looking than me?!!

Me: Yes... I do think they're more attractive than you... But they're not real... So why are you so pissed...?

Girlfriend: Why don't you at least look at real girls?!

Me: They're too fake...

Girlfriend: And whats with these dolls?!

Me: They're figures... Okay... FIGURES...!

Maybe, something like that...

Hello there :)
My girlfriend is pretty calm, so we don't have to fight most of the time, and when we do fight it's over little things so there's no big deal. She is not even objecting when i'm playing games :p And we're together for beautiful two years- and without a major fight :) (don't know if it's because we're both martial artist and could hadouken each other :p )

btw, first post here ;)

You're vastly underestimating the crazy.
She wont come straight up to you and start talking about it. She'll save it as fuel for something.

For example, if she flirts with another guy.
You'll confront her about it and that's where that fight will start.

Her: Yeah, well you're always drooling over those dolls and cartoon women. How am I supposed to feel about that?

That question will act like a wrench in the works. All the gears in your head will come to a dead halt as your mind processes this sudden leap.
You: They're just cartoons, not real. It's not like I flirt with them or can cheat on you with them.
Her: You always pay so much attention to those stupid dolls, too.
You: They're figures and they're just that, figures. Not real people.

At this point, you'll try to inject some logic into the argument, but she'll throw you another curve ball and bring up something entirely different. If you're not whipped, you'll have two options:
1. Continue fighting
2. Say "Fuck this" and walk away.

Option 1 brings you right back where you started and you argue until she gets tired and storms off. You'll be left angry, confused and worried. She will keep doing what she did to start the argument.
Option 2 makes her angry and she storms off in a huff. However, what you did somehow turned her on and she'll back back. Only she'll be much nicer to you this time. She will do what she did to start the argument again, only this time in hopes of getting that same reaction out of you.

If you are whipped, you'll play her game until she's happy that she still has you wrapped around her finger and she'll go back to the way she was.

As you can see, you cannot win. There is no logic in their minds. They do not even know why they do the things they do themselves. They like to let men think it's got some deep significance, but it doesn't. They're just fucking crazy.

Edit: Shit, I raged.
Well said... I think I'd go with choice 2 in the Not Whipped catagory...

I would clearly be right... So if she argued with me about something that stupid, I'd just dump her... I don't like pointless fighting...

And I really don't think ALL women are really that evil and manipulative... I mean, I'm sure alot are... Especially where I live... But, I think theres women out there who would GET what Im all about, and not start an needless argument...

"Wanna start a fight?"

That seems to work...

I can be pretty easy going and tolerant of people's quirks, because I know that I'm just as annoying, but it doesn't take much to set me off. I hate fighting with people - it creates a rift, and to me, that's not going to go away.

So if I'm ever tempted to fight with whoever I'm in a relationship with, I have it out with them and then end it right there. If I don't bring it up, as long as I've thought of it, it's like this seed of doubt has been planted in my head. My problem with relationships is that I'm quite unwilling to fix things - I would prefer to end the relationship itself.

Things that are most likely to piss me off - being too clingy, telling me they love me after a few weeks (and also, seriously, we're teenagers; you don't love me), not giving me space, treating me like a pathetic human who can't even open a door for myself, insisting on paying for my meal even when I said I'd pay for it, and acting one way to me, and acting like a jerk around his friends. All the things that piss me off seem to really confuse people, because they don't see why it bothers me. Well, it does.

Her drug use and me trying to stop her from taking them.

Pretty big fight over that.
