What would gaming be...

I want to know what you think gaming would be if some interesting things did or didnt happen. These things are:

If there were no nintendo,gaming would be... 10 years behind. We would use CD's but the 3d platforming would still be awfull and there would be no loveable mascots.

If Magnavox would have crushed atari, gaming would be... The video game industry wouldnt have crashed and now there wouldnt be no need for nintendo. There would still be coleco, intelli and magnavox consoles.

If Sega would have won the 16-bit wars, gaming would be... ruled by them. Nintendo would make games for Sega and they would constantly make bad 3d mario games.

If the sony would have made the CD-system with nintendo, gaming would be... Still in cartridges. It would have failed so bad, that nobody would dare use cd-format anmore in fear of failuring.

If Final Fantasy stopped early, RPGs would look so much better now.

If most FPS' didn't exist then fanboy's who like crappy games wouldn't exist and then i would be happy because RPG's would rule.

What lovable mascots would they be? If you mean that little prick Mario...

And on the contrary, if there was no Nintendo (or at least if they weren't around now, give them their dues, they must be of been original at some point) then gaming would probably be ahead. They wouldn't make so much money from so little quality other 'lesser' competitors might be able to step up into the mix.

I'm not a fanboy for MS or Sony or w/e before someone jumps on it, I just despise the fact that Nintendo makes so much from releasing so much dross.

OT: If there were no Half-Life series, then I wouldn't be able to name an FPS with an intriguing and well scripted story with thoroughly likable characters!
