I have absolutely no experience in the whole, making of video games, but I do know what makes for a damn good one. Now, I would love to hear what the Escapist community thinks about what makes an amazing first person shooter.
My FPS wish list:
1. GUNS GUNS GUNS! Is it just me or do games these days seem to use the same selection of guns for multiplayer use? I can think of a few guns that would definitely make my trigger finger squeeze with joy. But a huge selection of guns Is meaningless without my next wish list item.
2. Balance is key. I love sniper rifles, in real life at least, I do not care much for the fact that in almost every game, sniper rifles are practically the hand of god. If a sniper rifle has super high damage, give the user low mobility and make them mount it on a Bipod (*cough Barret .50 Cal). And for gods sake, make melee a 2 hit kill. and do as Battlefield and Halo do, no kill streaks, just vehicles.
3. Grabbing and Compelling Campaign Mode. If a game cannot support it's self in it's single player aspect alone, as far as I'm concerned, it's an in complete game. A game needs a slew of fun single player options along with a fun and addicting but also balanced multiplayer experience. And please, put bots in the multiplayer, keep teams constantly balanced, this also allows the player to try the multiplayer out even if he/ she has no XBLA or PSN account.
keep your lists at a max of 5 wishes.
