What would you change for Mass Effect 3?

"Oh, darn! Another Mass Effect thread!"

Wait! Don't hit the back button! Gimme a second... *ahem*...

Mass Effect is a great series. But even Mass Effect has it's flaws. Personally I'd love to remove the different ammo types that players are required to use.

I play an Infiltrator, and I hate to say it, but Warp Ammo is the most useful bonus power to use, but at the same time I absolutely love the Flash-bang Grenade.

So curse you Ammo Types!

What's your one complaint with Mass Effect?

I really want the Mako back, but I want it to handle better and I want to drive around planets that actually have life on them to make it more interesting. Some hostile life.

Well, all these different Alien races we've only seen the adult males (females in case of Asari, sort of) from those races. How about some Turian, Salarian etc. women and children? Or even human children for that matter.

Make the close quarter person(forget name, the class that charges) a bit more durable. I tried it for a bit, but I just died all the time. So I went back to infiltrator.

I would like a larger variation of gameplay, like being able to cotrol the normandy during battle and arena fights. ALso, where are the female aliens?(besides asari).

Let me toggle helmets on and off like I could in the first game. I hated having to choose between armor bonuses and being able to see Shepard's face when he speaks. I always chose the latter.

Also, find a middle-ground in the leveling system of games one and two. Alternatively, build on the leveling system of game two. Shepard shouldn't lose his skills again. Use the save carry-over so that we can have our Shep just as we left him and then progress it further from there.

I want my Kirk Shepard to be able to boink a Turian woman damnit!

Or more seriously:
No more planet scanning. It sucks, it's boring, it added nothing to the game.

I think it'd be pretty cool if you could romance Kaiden/Ashley as either sex. It's a bit random, but I don't get why you couldn't in the first Mass Effect anyways.

Paragon/Renegade.

I think I've discussed that with somebody in the Halo fans group, but my opinion still stands that this morality system shit has to go.

#Mother effing thermal clips. I want my assault rifle endless strem support cannon back.

#Also the Mako. crushing Geth under the rampant wheels of my tank was far more fun than planet scanning.

#Lastly, different armour fits for all characters, rather than the outfits they have now. The lack of space suits for several of the characters is somewhat... irritating as well. Like at the beginning when you carry joker through hard vacuum to reach the escape pod. He should be suffering a number of things, like the bends, radiation burns and intense pain not yelling COMMANDER!!! Ditto when you board the collecter cruiser and at the end when you run around on it's surface, most of your crew wearing nothing but a little rebreather in space. Annoying.

More weapons than mass effect 2 less than mass effect 1, same for the armor, and please get rid of the gritty the interplanetary badass theme from mass effect 2

More replayability than Mass Effect 2. I still played the game about 6 times, but now I just can't get back into it for longer than an hour.
I played the first Mass Effect 18 times, and about 10 of those playthroughs was just making the same choices as the same class but it was still amazing.

Also more approaches to levels, the level design in ME2 was quite linear, if I'm an Infiltrator, let me play most of the mission without being spotted and taking sneaky paths.

And more character development. ME1 = Wrex = Excellent character development.
ME2 not so much

I would bring back grenades and, weapon upgrades or rather, the ability to quickly switch upgrades within menus as opposed to using powers to upgrade weapons.

I would also change resource mining by giving proves the ability to level up. You would start out sending multiple probes to a specific planet (by picking a planet, picking a number of probes and hitting a fire button) Each planet type can only take X number of probes but once you have sent the maximum number, you can level them up so as to get them to harvest more/ better resources. Leveling probes and, collecting the resources they mine should be done on the Normandy as opposed to revisiting each individual planet. To keep things realistic though, you can only collect probes if you're in the same system.

I would definitely keep the paragon/ renegade actions during cut-scenes. Those were really cool.

I can't wait to see how many of the little things from ME1 and ME2 carry over to the 3rd...

Just echoing what everyone else here said:

-An option to hide the helmets (which I'm hoping will also be in Dragon Age 2)

-A new and improved Mako

I have one thing I would want more than anything else.

If I'm in a mission, and I can see the sky... please, please let me use my STEALTH WARSHIP to make my own life a little easier. Just from time to time. It's genuinely immersion breaking that I can -never- call on my personal warship to bail me out even when it would be the logical course of action. It doesn't even need to break the games difficulty if you build it into the design.

I want the engineer to have a unique combat element... I want him/her to wear a custom designed exo-skeleton made out of salvaged armour parts.

I agree. It instantly sets something up as a good or bad choice, like the decision to rewrite or destroy the heretic Geth. Some choices are subjective.

Give me the Mako; that hovering thing in the Firewalker DLC was great fun to drive, but it fell apart if a geth looked at it too hard. Actually, just give me a flying Mako.

Having to spend points on ammo types did get annoying, especially since you're required to either take one yourself or rely on always keeping a squadmate with the appropriate powers (you could just not use special ammo, I guess, but then why have all those options?)

Give me a 3rd party member. I want to crush the Reapers with the help of Garrus and Tali, without neglecting whoever the most interesting new character in ME3 will be.

I actually didn't mind the thermal clips at all; if you run out all the time, it's usually a sign that you need to be using different tactics. The heavy weapon ammo, on the other hand, was rare enough that I found myself never wanting to waste it (especially when I got the Cain).

Remove the damned Morality system.

Yeah, I know it's a staple of the series. It's also the only part of the game which is genuinely terrible. It punishes you for roleplaying, and it sucks out all immersion.

Don't try to fix it. Don't try to improve it. Just leave. It. OUT... pleeeaaase!
