What would you chose?

I have just finished reading 'Picture of Dorian Gray' by Oscar Wilde.
For those of you that don't know it, here's a short summary: Dorian Gray is a young beautiful man, that is painted when he is still innocent and kind at the age of 20 by a painter named Basil. He makes a deal with the devil, he puts his consience in the painting and his ability to age. He doesn't get older, the painting does. And his evil deeds show not on him, but on the painting. This way he shall remain forever young and beautiful. Doing this he lost his conscience, so to speak he chose being beautiful on the outside over being a good and beautiful person on the inside.

I could tell you more about the story, but it doesn't matter to the questions that I'm about to ask you.

1. Would you do the same thing, so that you could remain young and pretty forever ? Or do you refuse? Explain the choice you made if you want to.

2. If you did this, how putrified would your painting be?

I apologize in advance for any spelling errors and/or stupid mistakes I have made. English isn't my first language.

I wouldn't do this as I'm not really a bad enough person to even need it. And living forever isn't all it's cracked up to be if you have to live on and consistently watch the ones you love die.

Hmmm, so that was the catch, the conscience thing.
I should really read it.

But I wouldn't.
I'd never fundamentally alter who I am.
Conscience is very much necessary.

That book sounds pretty rad. Maybe if my brain isn't goo from exams at the end of this week I'll have to go pick it up.

I would totally choose conscience over beauty. Though if I chose the opposite I would become a blood thirsty warlord and do some heavy metal shit and maybe even jump into a pit of acid so that my portrait would look like an album cover of an Iron Maiden album.
