You wake up, and the thing you love most in the world (not a person) doesn't exist?

It just ceases to exist, it's never existed. You can remember it and all things about it, but nobody else has ever heard of it.

It can be anything - a genre of music, a style of food, videogaming, even the internet. One day you wake up and POW it's just gone. You remember everything that you currently know about that thing, but nobody else has ever heard of it, you can't obtain it in any form anywhere.

What would you do?

There's nothing inanimate that i love. The only thing worthy of love are living creatures. Even then, it's a select few. So the reality would be, just go on like nothing is wrong, because nothing would be for me.

Pretty much what everyone else is saying. Recreate it and make a fortune. Then you get it back and you have money.

:( I can't recreate it. It's school for God's sake. Who the hell would listen to me if I told them "hey, let's make this 6-hour prison where smart people make stupid people smarter! It'll be a really good idea"?

MENTAL HOME!
He seems to have hit the nail on the head with the "re-create it" issue.

Say for example the thing that disappears is heavy metal. You get the relevant instruments and try to make a band, but nobody can understand why you would like that thing - as such you're just seen as a weirdo.

Say the thing that disappears is video games, but nobody can understand why you'd want to be doing such a thing rather than... anything else.

Perhaps I didn't make it clear - not only does the thing you love and remember not exist, but nobody wants it or cares.

I'm going to jump on the 're-create it' band wagon here. It's what I would of said anyway.

Considering my favourite a musical genre I'm fairly proficient in, I shall sell my own album.

Hey, you just sold it to me.

Leave out the 'prison' bit and you're flying. =]
