As long as it tasted really good I would probably chew thoughtfully for a minute shurg and say pretty good then keep eating. I mean I like chineese food and everyone says they put cats in that. (they really use goat meat but thats not the point)

I say "Ah.", continue eating, hang out with my mate a bit more, go home, be a bit nicer to my sister's cat than I usually would, then go to bed and proceed as normal.

I probably wouldn't finish it, because the meat of terrestrial carnivores isn't supposed to be especially tasty. I don't really have a problem with the idea of eating a cat, despite the fact that I adore them and have three. I eat squid, and I think squid are adorable. Hell, the only meat I've had qualms about eating were baby octopuses on a pizza. They turned out to be delicious, but I felt terrible about it.

I hate the idea of somebody killing cats, though. So..hm. Actually, I don't know how I'd react.

Is this one of those "hypothetical" scenarios? Probably ask whose cat it is, and hope it's not mine. I'm not really sure, honestly. If it's good, I might continue to eat it. When you think about it, what makes cat meat any different than turkey or cow? Just becasue they are pets? Mind you, I am a cat person, and I have three myself. Still, I can be reasonable at times, and I would try anything at least once.

I'd assume they were joking, if they weren't it would just be... weird,
also OP, is this a matter of personal experience?

Ascertain they were serious and then proceed to go mental and kick off bigstyle.

I understand how people might feel differently but I have grown up with cats and to me they are practically people. She may aswell of fed me Soylent Green as far as I'm concerned.

*****.

Also I would never speak to that friend again, anyone who knows me that well would know that I would not be okay with eating a cat.

I didn't speak to my best friend for 2 weeks when he said he killed and ate a cat on a marine survival exercise.

I'd probably be a bit confused at first considering the cultural taboo of eating cuddly cute animals around here (although lambs, baby cows etc. don't seem to fall under that), but then I'd probably ask about the source of the recipe. Is it a particukar cultural thing? Maybe something Asian?

My first reaction would be to smile, thinking it's a joke. Seeing that it isn't, I would probably swallow whatever piece of food I still have in my mouth and politely leave. Actually I don't know. It depends how good it is. Seriously.

I won't lie. I'm a cat lover myself, so I'd probably freak out a bit, but I also hate being rude, so I'd probably finish it. Afterward, I'd ask him to please tell me what we're eating next time.

You're at the home of a good friend of yours. Great friend. You love going over to his/her house to hang out. You play video games, watch awesome movies, talk for hours, your friend has a good sense of humor. And your friend is totally normal too. He/she has never done anything really weird before and you have no sense at all that anything unusual will ever take place.

Well, after a round of playing your favorite game, his/her mother says it's time for dinner. You politely offer to leave and let them enjoy their meal. But the mother insists that you stay and you're glad to do so.

You sit down for the meal and there's the usual assortment of vegetables and a meat. You take one bite of the meat and you're unsure what it exactly it is. It's pretty good. It's tender and juicy, in fact, you'd like to know what it is, maybe you could get some more at a store and make your own. So you ask, "What kind of meat is this?"

Without hesitation, just a polite smile, and complete honesty, the mother replies, "It's cat."

You've just been served cat meat by your best friend. What do you do?
This has absolutely nothing to do with Joe Cocker, nor even the Wonder Years, and for this deception you have lost my friendship forever.

Why would it bother me what it is if it tastes good? The only difference between eating a cow and eating a cat is culture. I've eaten escargot, there's no reason I should be grossed out by a cat.
