what i dont want is the stupid leveling system in elderscroll games. how as you level enemies get better. whats the point in leveling at all. i think the fallout system is best where the game is divided into zones and the enemies scale to your level when you enter the zone. that way the game is always challenging but there is still a reason to level cause as you level the current and previous zones get easier.

i would be playing oblivion right now if it wasnt for the leveling syste, that makes me feel like i havent achieved anything at all.
It's not an Elder Scrolls feature, it's only in Oblivion.

Fortunately.

It may not be in the elder scrolls style, but I love and would really like to play a character who dual wields. Also no scaling, that my bigest peeve ofthe game.

Not just Oblivion, Morrowind had leveled items and creatures too. Admittedly it wasn't bad, but I still found it odd how the bandit hideout near the beginning had respawned with its bandits and loot a lot better than I remembered.

OT: Personally I would love more weapon types, maybe even more fighting styles for melee. Example: bonus for damage/crippling a part when you'd hit full-power with a two handed weapon, or a damage modifier when you avoid attacks when using daggers or short swords. Also, bringing back the varied weapon skills from morrowind would be nice too.

A lot of the loot is random, so possibly you got 12 skooma instead of 6? I got 8 one time.

That was a fun day.

This has all been said before but whatever.

Better leveling. I don't want to have to min/max just so I can have a fighting chance. And all that other stuff people said about enemies leveling with you.

More practical looking gear. Sure the daedric stuff looks cool but I want to be a knight in shining armour without getting my ass kicked because I'm wearing steel.

More variety in weapons as others have said.

Better animations such that I can look like I'm actually running diagonally forward instead of just sliding.

And my one completely unreasonable request would be to make the characters actually walk up stairs, not invisible slopes placed above the model (I know it's really hard to do, but I've yet to find a game where I can actually walk up stairs step by step).

How about NO FAST TRAVELING!
Or how about the fact that fast traveling is an option? You don't have to do it. So...ignore the option and walk there yourself? What do you care if someone else uses it? It's not affecting you if they do.

More voice actors. And i hope all 5 of those that appeared in Oblivion have been rounded up and shot. Besides Martin at least...he was alright.

So apparently know one knew why I said this, even giving it as an option sort of ruins any possibility of immersion. Every hoovered over a city on your map and said "Oh boy, I'm gonna fast travel there." with that thought, you instantly don't care about any exploration. Also, it's too tempting to use.

If you play on pc, which you should, there's plenty of mods to remove fast travelling. As for in the new Oblivion, it'll probably be toggleable like Hardcore mode in New Vegas, especially after the backlash from role players all over mod sites.

So you're not,not using it because it's too tempting? Well doesn't that mean you like it more then hate it?

how bout a point-buy level-up system, such as the one Fallout uses? I mean, a level-up system where you have to use what you want to level-up is cool in theory, but it makes role-playing a bit useless since you can be a jack of all trades as opposed to min-maxing, which actually makes a character dynamic.

MORE GUILDS, ive already gone through and played the guilds wuest s twenty times and havent gotten bored so even more guilds to give out quest would be AWESOME.

plus a variety of more weapons, the mods already do a good job about this , but i would like more of a cosmetic difference in my weapons.

And better enchanting, i bust my ass getting the black soul gems and stealing an NPC soul and it doesnt do shit for my weapons , either A allow mre than one soul gem at a time, or B make the souls more powerful

Plus let us upgrade clothing more than once.

and more quest telling the history of the world around us and some as treasure hunts to great and powerful weapons that look cool.

Textures and Character models that isn't awful.
Give some guy on tesnexus a few weeks and he'll something three times better up.

And don't even get me started on the animations or the eyes, oh god the eyes, everyone is half blind.

What I would like to see in TES: V
- A more varied game world: not just the same, bland, medieval country side with cloned trees that are scaled too tiny. I want some serious diversity (see WoW)

- Either partial voice acting and tons of dialogue options or full voice acting and tons of dialogue options. Not the impersonal block style of text like in morrowind, but keeping with the same style in oblivion just with less filler voicing as to reduce repetitiveness.

- Back off the NPC?s faces. Seriously they fixed this in Fallout NV and they need to spread the love to TES

- Skill system that covers combat, crafting (professions), movement, social. This kind of enforced a point two points down. I would rather a wider, more-free canvas of a game in which to role-play without having to fight constantly

- Graphics and environment improvements please. I know oblivion is kind of old but seriously, the least you could do is scale the trees larger. (see QTP3 and NE mods) [yes I know mods fix this but there is only so much that they can do]

- Focus on non-combat. Don?t get me wrong, I love combat. Without it, the game wouldn?t be such a good rpg. I want alternatives!

- Many guilds to join. (Fighters Guild, Mages Guild, Thieves Guild, Assassins Guild, Rangers Guild, Explorers Guild, Metalworkers Guild, Alchemist Guild, Cooks Guild, Sewing Guild, Bards Guild, etc) there are more that are possible, but these came off the top of my head.

- Better religion system. Actual religious involvement (see next point)

- Organized religion benefits, pilgrimages, etc. I?m not talking crappy, you?ll get a buff if you trek over to an altar in the middle of boring forests, wolves and bandit camps.

- Many other factions to join. (brotherhoods, guards, armies, gangs) like guilds but more.

- Lots of in depth quests and tasks for all of the above (as well as some more realistic, menial quests for beginners like in morrowind)

- Every NPC characterized and equipped with lots of conversation options (I swear to god if I hear ?The Emperor and his 3 sons DEAD! Right in front of the noses of the imperial guard, It?s a disgrace!? one more time I?m gonna pop a glock in that games head and make a brain slushee

- Fast travel system that isn?t instant and also teleport spells (like WoW)

- Obtain jobs, families, businesses (this might be asking for too much but hey this whole post is a imaginary dream game so hell lets go for it)

- Be able to create a store that people will buy from (related to the above business part. It would be cool to have the option)

- Basic needs (hunger, thirst, sleep, fatigue) I know mods fix this but maybe they could flush it out better and add some HUD bars

- Relationship system (higher like/dislike gives new conversation options, different dialogue, invitations to hang out (or go out on a date if romancing), challenges to fight, favors, forgiveness): Not just ?you selected the right part of the circle, I now like you 80 points. Now I may smile when I see you.? It totally doesn?t feel natural at all.

- Better persuasion system (actual lines of dialogue, hanging out with someone increases disposition) basically the above

- Focus on 1st person but 3rd person option (they?re already doing this but I don?t want them to stop)

- Better PC interface. Im seriously you guys.

- Moar Weapons

Ill add more but for now that?s good. Yay venting is awesome.

What do I want to see?

Oblivion had about 120 hours of gameplay... I want V to have 3 times that...

Thats pretty much it... maybe throw in a date simulator for the heck of it...

All of continental Tamriel to explore.
I hold Oblivion as one of my favorite games, so I just want more land to explore.
Damn, NINJA'd. That would be so cool.

Also, no "loading area" every 10 feet. I think Bethesda should just use Avalanche Studios Just Cause 2 technology to make the world of TES 5. It works well in JC2 and it works well in The Hunter. It looks awesome too.

sence of humor,
Yes!

That is the main reason I spent over a hundred hours in Fallout3 and never finished (or even really started) Oblivion.

And maybe forcing you to actually walk to places before letting you fast travel would make the game feel a bit more immersive, and actually give it some other sense of purpose besides killing hordes of imps.
If Fallout 3 is funny, I guess it needs to go on my Christmas list.
