With the game taking place over 10 years, I would love to see your main character from the first game become a party member. Especially if they become a romance option.

also captchas suck
I think it's supposed to be like 100 years after the first one.

Better, and more consistant combat/difficulty.

I couldn't even finish the first Dragon Age, it was just so annoying. I mean, I'd go and demolish a boss on hard difficulty, then go and get demolished by a squad of normal blight creatures a second later. But then again, I suck at tactics...

Well graphics and the combat could be better but I have understood that Bioware has made improvements on those sections. Animation should be a little more fluent too. I'm really interested in the new story and the whole "play through time"-aspect. I'm just not completely sure that it will work but I trust Biowares judgement.

Actually it spans 10 years and its story over-laps with Origins.

I'd like to be able to link my DAO I account to DAO II and actually feel like the choices in part 1 matter in part 2, uprising of morgana's potent demonchild, anyone? Would be awesome

I'm not sure I'm going to like the changes they've made to DA. The limited origin story, more combat focus and new dialogue system all seem to be making the game actiony like what happened with Mass Effect. However, I hope to be proven wrong, I have faith in Bioware.

On the other hand I think they're fixing most of the problems Iswa in DA:O e.g. more class differences between thief and warrior, improved archery and hopefully a even more new characters to get to know.

A return to second edition D&D rules. I want Baldur's Gate-style combat in a modern game... obviously, they're going the other way with this...

I'd like to see it delivered to my house :p
Seriously now, I really can't say. I guess after playing many open-world RPGs these last few months I'd settle for nice, well written linear storyline with engaging combat and character development. I don't mind taking the pre-defined role as long as I can pick my class. Sad how low my expectations have become.

A darker, more personal and intense storyline. Some real interactivity with your decisions during the ten-year story.

For examples on the first, see the jump between kotor1 and 2.

I'm playing through Mass Effect 2 now, and I know DA2 is adapting some elements from that series. While in some cases this is a good thing--I think the dialogue wheel with the icon telling you exactly what your tone is is a positive change--ME2 is...lacking in a few areas compared to DA:O. Mostly in terms of the characters.

In DA:O, I spent almost 100 hours with my companions, talking to them in camp, and while walking around they had great banter with each other. Most of them were really useful in combat too. In ME2, most of my squadmates are pretty one-dimensional until I do their loyalty missions, which develops their characters a bit. Then I have one or two meaningful conversations with them afterwards, and they have little else to say for the rest of the game. They don't banter with each other, half the time they barely acknowledge each other's existence, and because I'm an Infiltrator sniper, I don't need their help in combat half the time. I don't need their help outside of combat at all (My warrior couldn't pick locks or disarm traps, but Shepherd can hack anything).

It's still a great game (and in terms of the DLC, ME2 far outstrips DA:O in value and quality), but in DA:O I got the sense of having to unite a group of hostile castoffs, loners and redemption-seekers into a cohesive, functional group capable of defeating the Archdemon. I really hope DA2 doesn't get away from the importance of party members--both storywise and mechanically.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the first one, but I'd like to see improved combat myself. Anyone have any other ideas as to what they'd like to see?
More powerful(Read: not useless) archery. More spells, more specialization, a little more balance between the specializations, and in general more customization. Maybe add a 5th tier to all spell and talent trees. That way, a warrior/rogue can't have all the talents they want at 20th level. Having to make a choice, not just getting everything, would be nice.
Ah geeze, I forgot how shitty archery was.

Archery ain't shitty if you invest everything in to Dexterity and have a decent bow.
But it's just not as good as... anything else.
Archers were never meant for battle in D age. While I agree that they should have done more damage, I used them for spawning animals (Which do a hell of a lot damage anyhow) and buffing my other characters. Also duel wielders on the hardest difficulty got waisted so easily they just become a pain.

OT: In the next game there had better be character customization and different races, also I don't want to be called Hawke or whatever his name is I want to be called Randomfella!
Meet my standards or I won't buy it :D

i would like to see your actions actually effect the ending(like every rpg is supposed to do).i would also like to see the ability to have more than 3 companions at your side,i would be fine with taking four companions, and i know that they are trying not to make it to easy but they could just put more enemys in a room so you can have more companions,im just so tired of having 3 companions who are my best friends at the end of the game while i have the other 6 still not even know my name.

To have an actuall roleplaying challenge would be nice. (i.e: no predifined character)
But I gues it's a little too late for that.

And while I'm at my fancy dream, not getting a Mass Effect: Fantasy Edition would be nice too...

The combat in DA: O was solid, but ultimately uninteresting so any improvement there would be nice. And maybe even being able to use more than six of my abilities in combat when I play DA2 on my 360.

And am I the only one who notices how much stuff you get to use in DA2? There's all the stuff you get for preordering, and then the free upgrade to the Signature Edition and all the stuff with that as well as the Sir Isaac of Clarke Armor [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Toe9OY3Ad-0].

Bioware really knows how to make the most of a $100 purchase.

I would like to see more interactions between the main character and their party members and more interactions between party members to other party members. Besides just the random chunks of text that you can get from your team members here and there when you talk to them on DAO...also an ending that is actually animated and not just this text like oh here is what happened at the end of the story blah blah blah...lol.

Fun combat.
This, combat was anything but fun and the final boss battle was tedious and frustrating, only the story kept me playing this game.

Bigger map, more locations and less sudden enqounters wilst traveling. Also the ability to recruit an army and pillage town and cities. And now were're talking about it: Towns and cities. The origional game had only like 2 cities and 2 towns. The fuck kindof country is that? Sure the expansion added one city, but that's it. And the cities and towns that were in the game seemed awefully tiny. I know medieval cities were small, but if it's the only city in the country I'd expect something more than a huge palace, castle and a market.
