Whatever happened to the Owl in the Legend of Zelda series. I mean, he was quite an important part to the game. Almost your mentor. I want to know what happened to him? Why isnt he in any other LoZ games? and what you think his story is?

I haven't played twilight princess in a while but wasn't the owl in that game too? if so I'm pretty sure he just shows up in the games in that "story arc" or whatever you wish to call it. that is to say it only shows up in the main ones, not in the WW Zelda's, or the cell shaded ones if you choose to call them that. if that's true it will probably show up in Zelda: The Master's Sword(yes I did just make that up).

Everyone talks about Navi being annoying, but when I played Ocarina of Time I found the owl to be insufferable. He would have long pointless dialogue sequences that where unskippable. If you just mashed the A button to get through the text, you would end up seeing the whole thing again. He asks you if you want to hear the shit he just spewed again, and your cursor is automatically on the yes option. So if you just mash A you will probably end up hitting the yes option.

Love how you loosely used the term "Almost"

I'm sure they will find something completely arbitrary to be an "almost" mentor in future games, like a talking ball of lint from the bottom of your pocket, or a pen.

I played OOT when I was a wee lad. This ended up happening to me for like an hour!! I couldn't understand what I was doing. I thought he was just saying the scrit normally not repeating himself. I say we go hunting!!

As far as I know, he was only in OoT and Majora's Mask...please correct me if I'm wrong.

Showing up in 2 out of the couple dozen LoZ games hardly qualifies as a staple of the series.

Midna came along and proved that the character that guides and exposits can be a love interest rather than a lame pain in the saddle.

He probably died of age, there are numerous Links in the Zelda universe and the OoT/MM one is probably the first chronologically.

Doesn't the owl make numerous cameos in Twilight Princess to like...tell you how to do certain moves in dream-esque parts of the game?

If not, what the hell am i thinking of?

Also in the gameboy games, if I believe correctly. That makes five games in one console generation. People who grew up with that incarnation of Link feel he's a staple of the series, as is everything else that gained prescience in OoT.

Isn't that a knight-like character?

Usually the B button completely skipped ALL of his text.

The problem was that the yes and no buttons switched place, and the final question could be "did you understand what you just read".
So when you thought you could easily skip the text, you'd only get it again.
