What's happened to split screen Multiplayer?

Kids these days just don't know. They don't even know man.
Lag? Fuck lag try having your opponent see your every move! Strategy included what your opponent knows about you, and what you know about you opponent!

Call of duty and halo have it at least. I am very disappointed some potentially great multiplayer games like Uncharted 2 or bioshock 2 don't have it.

Well, I'll just bring up COD4, which in my opinion, is the best splitscreen experience.

After that, it all went downhill. Which is to be expected, you can't do better than perfection.

It's to push people into playing online - never mind that we finally have TVs big enough to play four player on without squinting like your Gran at bingo, the fat kids in charge of the tuck shop want more money...
