Well it did contain everything in the universe and to open it would doom all life to an eternity of painful suffering but no death....but I sold it for drugs last night....sorry guys.
There is a man in the box. At first he was just looking at it, but suddenly got this irresistible urge to get inside. It was more than just an urge though, it was as if it was his destiny to be there, in the box. When he put it on, he suddenly got this feeling of inner peace. He feels safe, like that is where he was meant to be. Like he'd found the key to true happiness. You should go inside the box, then you'll see what he means.

Really though, which box? 'Cause there are a lot of boxes, there they are all standing in a row. Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head.

My box contains 42 boxes in the shape of the letter 42 and all of them have 42 written all over them. They all contain the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything.

To all of you saying another universe (or ours), I hope Terry Pratchett's explanation is what you're hitting on. Inside the box is Discworld, a very strange place where magic is real, and things exist simply because people believe in them (gods for example wax and wane in power, or indeed pop into and out of existance based on the amount of belief in them). And within Discworld is a small snowglobe, containing Roundworld (our Earth). And thus starts a paradoxical cycle of questions of which universe really contains the other...that the wizards of UU couldn't care less about, and would rather get on with dinner.
