Well, not that great. You have a really long tongue that you keep tripping over and -

Anyway, I only smoke at parties or when under extreme stress. Which is to say, hardly ever.

grab a pipe and try it.

You won't get addicted and you get all the benefits of the smell and taste of a pipe.

Cigarrettes are just burning feeling... eck.

Seriously, $4.50 pipe, 4.50 pouch of tobac. A 50 cent tamper... and there ya' go

I dont' care that you dont' want to try it.

Anyway, eh, I have spent a whole $40 on smoking in an entire year. I'm not addicted to it because I can take it or leave it. I haven't thought about smoking for the past month. It's just a nice day out in the cool air at night or something.

As a part time smoker who smokes a pipe (I'm classy that way) I have to say, if you have not smoked, you probably won't much care for it, though pipe smoke/tobacco is much nicer then cheap/expensive cigars and cigarettes. The smoke also offends less people, it seems.

And it doesn't affect my economy that much since I only really smoke when drinking, and packs of pipe tobacco, while more expensive then cigarettes, tend to last much longer. People say that is how a habit starts, but I have less than zero desire to ever do it whilst sober (the flip side is that whenever I get a pint in me, I start jonesing pretty hard).

And on the plus side, chicks are always fascinated with the pipe, assuming you're a straight dude. I joking call it my silent wingman, whenever I hit up the pubs.

I only smoke when I'm drinking so not that often. For some reason it makes me more drunk, I'll be hovering around 6 pints and still feeling kinda sober and then I'll have a couple of cigs and everything hits me at once. I don't know why but it does so I do.

What is it like? I dunno ok if you don't cough.

The first time I smoked, I felt light-headed and my body felt quite heavy and relaxed like a bag filled with liquid. It was an extremely pleasant feeling and it tasted good too. I found it easier to communicate with people, due to the relaxing effect and I've noticed I'm in a better mood when I smoke. When I don't smoke, I'm more easily aggravated and that's about it.

I smoked for many years and I have to say as an ex smoker I am so glad to not smoke as I now realise what a dirty stinking habit it is not to mention the health issues.

I love it! Yeah... I'm not actually sure which part of it. May it be: walking to the gas station to feed my craving or maybe the huffing and puffing I produce after a run, or maybe the smell it leaves behind? I know, I'm one steaming hypocrite regarding the smokes, but I would never ever tell anyone how great it is (because it isn't)... that's my little secret :p

*Edit: I should have answered your questions too. Here goes:
- I chose my brand on taste, because there is a difference in it.
- For me, hard to describe. Maybe it could be compared to not being able to drinking your favorite drink for months and wanting it (for a smoker that time frame could be a hour or so) .
- Some say it's bad for the costs on healthcare. But look on the positive side of this one: we pay lots of excise tax on it, and maybe we even spare the government our pensions.
- Why smokers stick to a brand? Maybe you like pepsi better than coca cola? I don't know.
- The taste is hard to describe (in the beginning, it really tastes aweful) but it's just like anything else you didn't think you would like (beer or wine for example).
- I know I'm an addict. I've tried to quit cold turkey a few times and I always get headaches, sometimes even dizziness and want to climb up the walls out of pure agitation and surplus energy that I don't know what the .... to do with.

It's would baffle me if anyone here has met anybody who smokes nearly as much as I do. At my peak, I smoked 3 packs per day. Granted, I was working outside all day and making roughly $4000 per month. It didn't hurt my economy much then. To be honest, it never really hurts any smoker's economy. It's something that is taken into account when planning your funds, like groceries or rent. I'm not saying that it isn't expensive (it is), but the effects are far less noticeable if you plan for your habit. It's similar to the upkeep of anything else. When there is something you want or need to buy, you plan for it. Cigarettes aren't exactly an impulse purchase.
As far as addiction goes, I couldn't begin to tell you anything about how it works. There are far too many variables, and I doubt that anyone here has done the research to determine whether it is more physically, chemically, or mentally addicting. Anyone here who claims to know how addiction work should shut their mouth unless they are a chemist, molecular biologist, neural biologist, or anybody else who is qualified to research and understand the implications. Far too many studies have been done with varying degrees of accuracy to determine any solid conclusion. Are cigarettes addictive? Yes. Is addiction different for everybody? Yes. Does anybody know why each individual person gets addicted? Yes and no. There are far too many specifics that factor into this.
Brand selection is no different than any other brand selection. It isn't rocket science. It's a combination of comfort with the product and fear of change. I've smoked several different types of cigarettes. I regularly smoke American Spirits, but on a rare occasion buy a pack of Unfiltered Lucky Strikes or Camel Wides.
As for taste...I think it tastes awesome. If I thought cigarettes tasted like shit, I wouldn't smoke them.

For the record, I currently smoke almost 2 packs a day and have no plans to quit in my immediate future.

That is all.

ive smoked a few times, no cigarettes tho, ive smoked a couple cigars with my friends as a way to celebrate the next stages in our lives. Ive also smoked from a hookah (tobaco, not pot) But i only like the flavored tobaco, the regular kind makes me sick.

It's not as fun as green.
It doesn't really affect me. By that I mean if you asked what it tastes like, I honestly couldn't say. Just that it tastes better when you're smoking than the smell when you're around other people who are smoking. What's nice actually nice is taking it in and actually smoking. It's like a warm sensation inside you. But of course it kills you so it probably isn't worth it. Not to mention, my first comment.

I've never smoked, and I just realized that I don't know what it's like. What does it taste like? What determines which brand you choose? Why don't smokers try new brands very often? What's it like to really want a cigarette but being unable, at the moment, to have one? How does smoking affect your economy?[footnote]I'm talking about your economy, not the economy of smokers in general. I know people who spend fortunes on cigs, but I also know a guy who smokes every day but always gets somebody else to give him one.[/footnote] How did you realize you are addicted? Or if you're not, what is it that proves to you you're not?[footnote]That sounds a little offensive. Sorry about that, I'm just curious. And to clarify, that question was directed at people who smoke every day but still feel certain that theyre not addicted.[/footnote]If you can answer any of those questions, or tell me something else about what it's like to be a smoker, tell me. There's no need for one of those long replies that's practically an essay, but if you want to write a reply like that, I won't stop you. Just don't feel that it's at least three-hundred words or nothing.
Edit: I notice I haven't been very clear on this point, so I will be: I don't ever plan to smoke anything.
Basically, it feels really really nice. Makes ur head buzz from lack of Oxygen. Seriously.

I don't want to live till Im ninety I wont lie. Im 16 and smoke cigarettes but Im going to move onto Cigars just because I prefer the taste.

's good shit. X
