I've seen a few threads discussing what might be on God's iPod or on Batman's iPod etc. but let's generalise!
Pick a famous/fictional character and say what you think they like listening to...

Dexter: He loves the calm solitude of his apartment but when he's out committing his unfriendly deeds, I reckon he cracks out the metalcore. He loves the breakdowns of Suicide Silence and Killswitch Engage. While he's hacking up the bodies of murderers he's headbanging to Parkway Drive's 'Siren's Song' "Does it make you sick? Does it make you feel beautiful?!"

Cap'n Jack Sparrow: Alestorm and Swashbuckle. Simples

Your turn

Wow, really? I don't want to feed the troll but tell me, music guru, what bands do you enjoy?

.. Yeah, I'd say you have Dexter all wrong. I'd imagine him listening to music without lyrics, if anything at all. It's much easier to picture him enjoying the silence and the moment in its purest form, untainted by music.

Asuka (from Neon Genesis Evangelion): The two bands that instantly spring to mind where she's concerned are Rammstein and Maximum The Hormone. Truthfully, I could imagine her listening to anything loud.. if it sounds angry, it's probably a damned good bet.

(I probably have Asuka all wrong, I've not seen or read NGE in ages.. She was just the first character that came to mind. xD)

Naked Snake: Late-Sixties/ early Seventies rock 'n' roll.

Gordon Freeman: Sci-fi soundtracks, and David Bowie.

Nice way to generalise some bands many people enjoy, mate. You could contribute something of value to this thread instead of being a bit of a slut, eh? :].
OT:
Odysseus:
Let's face it. He listens to the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack religiously as he travels across the Aegean;D.

...'cos that didn't sound nerdy xD.

Dr. Kelso - Definitely jazz and blues

Dr. Cox - Definitely classic rock, though he doesn't seem like a person who just listens to music

Dr. Turk - We already know that he listens to Neil Diamond, the Sugarhill Gang, and probably a lot of music in between those

Dr. Dorian - We know that he listens to Pat Benatar, Toto, and he's "down with the rap music", so probably some rap, mixed with soft rock and 70's/80's rock ballads

Dr. Reid - We know that she likes chamber orchestra music and is from Connecticut but also like rap, so I'll say pretty much everything

Commander Sheppard listens to "Commander Sheppard" by MiracleOfSound over and over again, doing his awkward Shepperd dance.

What you don't know what I'm talking about?

I picture dexter more as a classical music guy. Some Mozart, something like that.

OT:
SOAP: Indiana Jones soundtrack on loop.
Commander Shepperd: Big Booty Bitches, again, on loop.
Glados: Daft Punk discography.

I'm not entirely sure you know what a slut is xD

OT; Master Chief "i am the one and only" by Chesney Hawkes. Just that, on repeat. That or something inexplicably random, like the Dubliners, "Rocky road to Dublin".

Keith Richards was in Pirates as Jack's dad, he would probably listen to something more along the lines of the Stones or the Doors.

I couldn't see Dexter listening to core music, even though Jaga's post may seem condescending, hardcore music's demographic is generally younger teens. You'd never find an adult in a mosh pit at Devil Wears Prada concert. I think of Dexter as listening to mellow electronic music like Aphex Twin or Boards of Canada.

My first instinct when choosing Dexter was something calming like Mozart or perhaps Bob Dylan but I thought it would be interesting to see his inner rage manifested in a nice heavy breakdown. Plus, core music is surprisingly varied in its audiences, just like it is in its bands. I'm 20 and all my mates in their 20s who are metalheads are all huge fans of Parkway and Killswitch

*Ehem*
I like Parkway Drive and KsE. I assure you, I am neither fourteen or female.

Dracula likes KISS, Cthulu likes Mastodon and Gojira and Darth Vader is into Nine Inch Nails.

I do remember that, but Lloyd is sort of... wrong. He was listening to Devildriver (who are, incidentally, awesome), which isn't speed metal.

Fun fact, I just learned about that after looking it up on the Scrubs wiki to make sure not 5 minutes ago.

Also

Janitor - Probably everything, as he is a very intelligent and worldly human being as far as I remember
