What's "Shader 2"? (Need quick help).

So, I don't remember having this problem on Steam before but it's telling that "Shader 2 is no longer supported anymore"... Does this mean I did have it? I'm confused...

I can't actually make heads or tails on whether or not I can download a piece of software or need a new graphics card... Can someone Quote me back please?

ShaderModel 2.0 refers to DirectX 8 support. Not sure what Steam has to do with it unless maybe it is an update to Team Fortress 2. TF2 did support DirectX 8, but they may have pulled support for it recently.

In any case, DirectX 8 is ancient, and the video cards that supported it are ancient too. If DirectX 8 is the best your video card supports, it might be time for an upgrade. DirectX 8 cards are about 8 or 9 years old at this point. Most modern games won't run on these cards. Even a really cheap $30 modern video card would be a massive improvement over any DirectX 8 card.

I'll try updating, if that doesn't work, I think I might need to get a new graphics card~
