I've seen threads like this before, but I still want to know, what's something you enjoy that no one else seems to? I'm not talking about Dragon Age 2 or other games which have gotten mixed reviews, but games, movies or music that you've seen nothing but hate for. For me, it's Bioshock 2. I don't know if I've ever seen anyone on any web site talking about it positively. Was it as good as the original? No way. Was it (in my opinion) a fun game with a decent story? Yeah. I actually thought they did some really interesting things with the game, like the section where you play as the little sister. I also thought the characters were pretty interesting, and some of the sections where you had to guard the little sisters were intense. Don't get me wrong, I think it was a bit too similar to the first game, and I'm glad Bioshock Infinite is going for a different feel, but I thought Bioshock 2 stood well on its own. So how about it? What's something you enjoy that everyone else seems to hate?

Red Alert 3 :(

It's my favourite game of all time and not one of my friends has even an inkling of interest in it.

I also like Windows Vista but no one else in the entire world seems to share my non-hate. Honestly to me it wasn't anything but a visually-upgraded Windows XP, but everyone I know is like "It crashes all the time! / It doesn't let you play games! / It's so slow!" -- and I never experienced any of those problems. (In fact, if it weren't for a few cool new features in Windows 7, I'd even like Vista more than it.)

Darkest of Days.

A lot of people were apparently put off by hot musket on musket American Civil War action, but I liked it, and actually using a musket was rarely required, there was a repeating rifle available almost all the time during the Civil War parts. Hell, they even had this goofy looking musket sniper rifle with this goofy as crap looking scope that might not have been entirely unrealistic.

Generally though, I like Sniper: Ghost Warrior. Critically mauled, but fuckin' awesome.

I agree with you on Bioshock 2. Yeah, the story didn't really match the first, but then I didn't go into the game expecting it to, and the story that was there I wouldn't call bad as such. I also preferred the gameplay mechanics over the first, specifically the ability to dual-wield weapons and plasmids (always a bugbear of mine with the original), and the hacking (that was a vast improvement).

I'm tempted to say pretty much any game developed by Gust. I like them, but I;m not sure how many others do...

Xmen origins Wolverine.

It was the greatest film experience I've ever had in a cinema. I somehow saw none of the plot twists coming, and was almost moved to tears by the doomed romance, as I knew it had to fall apart, as he had to get to the state he was in in Xmen 1, but in the end it all seemed to come together, and then as they were about to go into the sunset, Strikers revolver appears in the screen. It was such a cheesy movie, but it had me absolutely gripped by every cliche

The original TRON.

It's like being dissed for being myself, at least to me, because my imagination is so tied to it. No one really gives it any merit anymore. It's like people need it to be Citizen Cane or some block-buster B.S. before they can talk about it without disgust. The same goes for The Black Hole. I don't understand how something so iconic and mind-blowingly visual could be "outdated", especially considering all the hard work that went into it and how much it has influenced people.

and no one wants to admit the original Terminator was good. In their minds, all that matters is 2: Judgement Day and what came afterward.

Everyone hates Star Wars because the prequels had to be made . . . -_-

Games:

If I mention any adventure game, everyone complains there isn't any real "Gameplay". Like you need to shoot something or jump on shit for it to be a game.

Clive Barker's Undying went no-where.

Music:

No one enjoys the Residents. They are just to weird for people to just sit back and enjoy. I can, I guess.

Same goes for Oingo Boingo. "Little Girls" was how many years ago? They were never very serious about anything they sang about anyway, they are not pedophiles. Is Weird Al a murderer because of "Like a Surgeon?". I guess the parody element is more obvious.

ARRRRRRGH!

Sorry, but these are all things I'm pretty passionate about . . .

Clive Barker's Jericho. Sometimes, it was really awesome. And then the characters started to talk, or the plot got even more ridiculous, and the list goes on. But it was fun.

It seems like a lot of people really hate Final Fantasy XIII. It's somewhat difficult for me to understand why, I think it's an awesome game and I've had a great time playing it. Last summer I played it for 80 hours and that was just one playthrough. I plan on doing it all over again this summer.

I liked Bioshock 2 as well, maybe even more than the original. I could get into the story a lot more and RP a little. In the first one you were just bumbling about with no motivation or reason for being there (at first). And the drill was oh so much more satisfying than the wrench

Apparently, I'm alone in liking the game Shadow the Hedgehog.

0_o I mean, Yeah the story and dialogue and awful failed attempts to be "mature" were absolutely terrible, but still...

It was fun.

I like Oblivion's level scaling.

In fact, without it, I wouldn't like the game much at all.

No your not XD. Shadow the Hedgehog was my favorite Sonic game (Irony?)

Maybe it was because I like the Color Scheme of Shadow (Black and Red) or maybe that he didn't run all the time but skated (Looked like it anyway). I still didn't truly understand the real story behind him, but only because the whole "Moral Choice" Function affected the story and missions you recieved.

The movie Van Helsing, apparently.
That movie was awesome. In an over the top, hilarious way. Also that Dracula was a really good actor, I think.
