I have the game consoles but I want to buy a new gaming computer just so I can use mods.

I have been looking at gaming PC's around the net but still can't decide what to get.

Any suggestions?

The best gaming computer is one that you make yourself. You can have the best parts and put them together yourself for a lot cheaper than just buying an already made computer.

I think Newegg.com [http://www.newegg.com/] would be the most helpful for you.

telling someone to put a computer together that doesn't know how to put a computer together is a bad idea.

Even if you don't make your own, you can probably have a local store build you one for a flat fee and it would still be a ton cheaper than getting a pre-built online.

If you live near Penrith, NSW, AUS go to http://arc.com.au/pub.php

They have good stuff.

Do this. My brother use to have a business doing exactly this. Selling components for, and assembling high powered, custom computers.

Not just for gamers but that was the majority of his business. Google it. There will be someone near you who does it if you live in a large city or near one.

seriously, it's a really bad idea.

THat being said, if you have a techy on hand, someone who's built computers before that doesn't mind giving you a hand, a home made computer will probably be the best.

If you're just looking for something expensive and easy then alienware ir many of the other "gaming PC designers" are decent, but they're not the best. They will impress less PC-enthusiast friends and family though.

There is no best gaming computer they are all custom made. Besides with gaming computers the point is you don't need the best hardware. You should be able to make a mid end one which is all anyone needs for about under roughly 1,000 of your currency for pounds, euro and dollar. I dunno what it would be like for other currencies like rubles(I think that is how you spell Russian one). A PC is overall the same price as a console however, especially when you ta ke into consideration the Steam sales. This is why I hate people saying that the PC is more expensive than consoles. Yes I will agree initial price and set up is quite expensive and difficult but the rewards with mods and these sales are undeniable.

Well technically I'd say the "best" gaming computer is the one that gives you a good price to performance ratio. With $700 you should be able to build a computer that runs most modern games on all medium/high settings. With $1000 you should be able to build one that runs everything current on max settings.
Well I am not sure on $s so I'll take your word for it but that is what I was sort of talking about as mid end ones can handle max graphics just not for long or atleast mid end to me. High ones will be able to hold on to max graphics for a few years.
