Depends what you want. Informative? Chuggaconroy, HCBailly, most of the really "popular" ones. I've never found any of them to be overly funny, but eh.
Want to watch someone who's funny? MoogleFTW, IdleSwineProductions (the Chamber of Secrets LP is so freakin' funny), MadameWario, Mangaminx, chickenfajita12, letsparty132 and pretty much a lot of "low-key" LPers.
Dunno why some people say chuggaconroy is the best LPer, though. Not to bash the guy but he's not funny at all. The best thing that's come from him is the video where he found a shiny and freaked out.

I don't know if this actually qualify as a Lets play series but Freemans Mind on You tube is pretty funny. They are still making videos.
I must revive this thread to say that the lack of mention of supergreatfriend [http://www.youtube.com/user/supergreatfriend] makes me sad. First and perhaps most importantly, he's mastered the crucial art of knowing when to talk and when to stay silent and let the game play. When he does talk, it's not inanities - he's very knowledgable about the games he LPs and does a good job of balancing informative talk with gameplay narration. His video editing skills are professional, and he chooses his games well - he's done the gonzo Dreamcast horror-comedy Illbleed and the two D titles and is currently working on what will probably be the definitive run of Deadly Premonition.
I can't close without mentioning one of the more surreal gaming moments the guy's LPed, the "Who is Killerman?" [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4Ds3nVJ-ok] player-participation mystery from Illbleed (go to about 7:00).

I'd say my favorite is probably MyselfOverwhelmed [http://www.youtube.com/user/MyselfOverwhelmed], although I don't know if he counts, because his videos aren't necessarily LP's in the traditional sense.
