What's the fastest you've driven a car?

I find it funny to see how many people are actually scared of driving so fast.

I know I'm abnormally careless. When I nearly crashed my car as described in the first post, I nearly killed myself and 3 of my best friends. I was about 4 inches away of death, but I made it, kept the car under as much control as possible (nearly spun out, hit 2 other cars), the car "danced" as I slammed the breaks because of it's massive weight (it was packed full). Regardless of all that, I still drive like a maniac and I feel fine about it.

Driving just doesn't scare me. Even though I lack a lot of experience, I hardly ever feel intimidated by a situation. Unless things nearly go wrong which only ever happened when something was just out of my control. This one time someone nearly killed my by sounding the horn right next to me when my window was open. It scared the shit out of me.

88mph.

Shit got real after that. Fucking gigawatts...
Liking the 2000's Marty?

OT: 150 KM in my piece of junk Batmobile. Just to see. It's too old to push it that hard often though so I don't think I'll be doing that again any time soon. Also speeding tickets cost more money than I can afford.

Maybe 130 or so in a car, older Supra. Gotten my bike up to 160 or so, but tbh I like the curvy roads more than the straight lines.

Actually not that fast. My old car could only get to 89mph before shaking almost uncontrollably. But, by that time, I was in 1955 so the shaking was the least of my concerns. In my current car (Peugeot 206) I've hit about 95mph but not actually tested how fast it can go. I'm guessing she can hit 120mph but the revs are way too high

Roughly 80km an hour, I know not that fast compared to some of the stories on here but it was on my uncles farm in a car which was about as old as me and only had half a roof.
sure that wasn't mph? 80 k isn't very fast at all for a car
I've done 77k on a pedal cycle down a hill!

#edit# 'on a farm' ok never mind sorry lol

125mph in ford focus...I didnt intend to go that fast really...the speedo kinda just crept up, I hadnt looked at it for a while and the lane I was in was clear...sooo 70mph turned into 80 easily enough and I knew...when 80 got to 125 and I noticed I thought hmm I should slow down.
Thats what I drive as well. Seems like the Focus likes to go fast!

Another Focus driver and yeah they do seem to creep up without you realising. Most of the time on Motorways or D/Cs I'm at 80 without even realising it. Fastest I have gone is 110 on a deserted motorway one Sunday evening, just to see how fast I could push it. Then I remembered the love of Speed Cameras, Camera vans and unmarked traffic cars we have in this country and slowed down just in case.

As an example of the unmarked cars, I was doing 40 in a 30 zone one night (everybody does it, it's a really steep hill and if you don't hit it at speed you lose all momentum). The car infont of me was a dark coloured Skoda Octavia, also doing 40. Suddenly, its blues came on and it sped off up the road. Phew, I thought to myself, glad it was infront and not behind. As I crested the hill and took it back down to 30 the car following me, a dark coloured VW Passat, also turned on its blues and I damn near shit myself. I went to pull over, only for it to tear around me and head off after the first car. As a result, if there is a car around me that looks like it could potentially be police, I 100% behave myself now.

154mph in a modified Mustang on a stretch of highway just on the California side of the Nevada/Cali border, outside of Primm.

Good times.

I think I have hit somewhere between 105-110 mph. I wasn't paying attention to the speedometer at the time, just the road. As we slowed down I took a quick look and the needle was just above 105(so at 104 or 103). That was about 3 years ago in a '94 Honda. By the way, somebody passed me before I slowed down.

That's weird. In America our cars display kph as well as mph. Why doesn't your car do that as well?

I was stupid and my friend was making fun of how slow my 1.8L 4 cylinder car was, I went to 165-170km/h before I decided that I'd proven my point.

It's about 100m/h I believe.

EDIT: Holden (Vauxhall) TS Astra.

I've ridden in faster cars, my father use to be a regional manager for a chain of hotels in the Northern Territory (Australia) when they use to have no speed limit, we travelled about 600 km in less than a day. It equates to 6 hours if you travel at 100km/h (60mph) but we managed to get there before lunch, have a meal, go for a swim in the pool, dad had a meeting and we got home well before dinner.

129 mph, in my mom's Civic.
about 115 in my GMC Safari.

I've gone over 60 on my bicycle, too. (Not motorcycle, bicycle. The kind with pedals.)

Crossing Nevada in 1992 in my 68 chevy II I did over 200 MPH, over because the speedo only went to 200 and i was still accelerating.

captcha: mouth watering
Not certain if trolling...only because it would take an assload of money to make a Chevy II go that fast and I don't know if you have that or not.
No not an assload really. mostly removing useless crap to make it lighter and building a 350 for those speeds is not expensive compared to a ricer or euro. Fact is its easy to do because most of the parts dont cost as much as the car and there is a shitload of performance parts for a small block chevy. and the most expensive new part was the Holley Dominator carb, and the majority came off the neighbors dragrace car that was getting covered in weeds that he sold me for $1k.

heres the car a few monthes before, it had the stock 307 and powerglide in it when the picture was taken. when I drove it cross country and opened her up in Nevada I had replaced that with a 350 and a th350 tranny about a month prior.

*edit
Haha i said 92 when it was 93. thats funny.
