well ive read a few fantasy books that have hit the 1k mark on pages but they are mostly the omnibus books for Gaunts Ghosts, Drizzt and the Stan Nichols book Orcs

if it was book series i would have to say its the drizzt saga, 20 books at about 300 pages + per book...

i love reading

Longest single volume:LotR in one volume ~1100 pages
Longest graphic novel: Sandman Absolute Edition, almost a foot long.

Longest book in multiple volumes: Mission Earth by L.Ron.Hubbard. The only book in the thread that beats this is Wheel of Time at 3.4 million. But those 3.4 million words were not insane scientologist propaganda so therefore I win by default. Also, I was 14.

Worryingly, I'm tempted to re-read it. If I have a few months spare.

War and Peace. That was a fucking struggle. It was a hell of a book though.
Is it any good? I was going to pick it up but someone told me it was quite boring...

OT: The longest I've read is probably The Lord of The Rings.

The Lord of the Rings series dragged on and on and on for me. I have read the entire Harry Potter series and even the largest book in that series [Order of the Phoenix I believe] didn't give me as much trouble as Two Towers >.<

Well, there are millions of people who'd tell you it's really good, me among them. For every classic- No, scratch that, for every book there is, there'll always be someone who thinks it's really boring.

Such a descriptive writer, and an epic one, too.
Best 317 pages of my life.

"War and Peace"

It was during a summer holiday. The days were light and the nights were short. There wasn't much else to do.

"Lord of the Rings", my edition about 1500 pages. "The Thrawn Trilogy", 1200 pages (best Star Wars book ever). "Akira", 2200 pages (alright, I confess, that's manga). "Calculus, Early Transcendentals", read it and made all the exercises, horrible mathematics.

Star by Star. It's a New Jedi Order book. Really a great book.

Never thought I'd see that on here. Good series, but I outgrew it. My favorite book was Outcast of Redwall.

Probably a compilationg of combat manuals. Also if anyone put the Captions on MGS4 I think that trumps every single book in existance.
